Alex nodded. She moved a little and her book slid out of her pocket and bounced on the floor. "Oops." She bent down to pick it up.

Alex's book had flipped open when it fell and as she picked it up her hand slipped through the page. She jerked back immediately, hoping no one had noticed.

Alex watched wide eyed and thankful that the others hadn't seen. She picked up the book and slammed it closed.

Alex looked up and shoved her hands in her pockets. "No" she mumbled.
Annabelle looked around, she wanted to figure out who these people were, and perhaps figure out what was going on. She was wary of them, but not wary enough that she thought she was going to murder them...except for maybe Jade, but she would only do that if he killed Ophelia first. Which he wasn't doing...

He never in his life, thought he would be amongst criminals...He was vulnerable. And he hated it.
Just then the sound of foot-steps came in a young girl, who appeared to be in her teens, with silvery white hair appeared, "My friend needs help!" she shouted. "She's stuck!"
"Down in that direction, she..." The girl with silvery hair exhaled pointing down the stairs, "...She has been caught by magical vines which are making it impossible for her to move-- I tried to cut them, but it wouldn't work...They were too hard for my dagger."
The girl blinked for a moment, very confused, and then followed. Another girl, who looked older than the silvery white haired girl was tied against the wall by a vine that just kept twisting never letting her go.
"Gwen you're here!" exclaimed the girl, "who's that--"
"Someone who will hopefully help...Marigold." Gwen replied.
"Thank you" said Marigold standing up, and brushing herself off, and looking around, "Um...Are you a half dragon by chance?" She felt odd asking the question, it was probably too personal, she just wanted to know...
Alex had fallen asleep in a corner and suddenly jolted awake.

Alex stretched and looked up. "Hello." She stood up and glanced around.
"Hi." replied Annabelle, "So..." she said, "I gather that we all come from different worlds or countries..." She paused waiting to see if that was correct.
Alex nodded. "Probably. At least Jade and Angelina aren't from my world."
"Got it." She replied, and looked down at her hands for a moment and then at Alex, "Has Jade really killed anyone?" She believed his attempt at being tough was a bit pathetic, it didn't make him tough if anything it made him a jerk...One that didn't know not to insult the first person you meet.
Alex nodded. "Yes...yes he has."
Annabelle nodded, it still didn't make him as tough as he thought he was. Did he not realize how he could be punished for killing someone? Not religiously that was, but punishment by the police would mean years and years in prison for the crime. "I see." muttered Annabelle.
"It wasn't really his fault though.....sort of....." Alex said, trying to defend him.
Annabelle looked up, she hadn't said anything about the punishments...She had just thought about it. "I understand, I do, I just..." she sighed, "murder is not something to brag about, sure, he did murder people...But it doesn't mean he should go around acting as if it was nothing ." She exhaled, "and if it wasn't his fault..." She was getting a little worked up, but she tried to control herself, "perhaps..." she could not find the words to describe what she was feeling, but she was sure Alex could see it in her eyes.
She had been accused of murder twice, one time she was under an alias (if you could even call it that, it was far more complicated...), who was a killer and had to pretend to be such...
And one time she, without an alias, had been accused of the murder of her fiance (who she didn't love...but that was besides the point). So, this topic was not unfamiliar to her...
"Perhaps he should..." she bit her lip, "let us know that instead of threatening to murder...my." she stuttered and then just said ".uh...Ophelia!"
Alex raised an eyebrow. "Jade hates his past life. He just hides the fact that it bothers him by "bragging" about it. Its a defense mechanism."

She tried to conceal what she was feeling, "I admit, I once was in a similar position to him...About my past and such..." and such, she hated the way she phrased that, "but if, I wanted to get as far away from my past as possible and wanted people to trust me, I wouldn't threaten to kill them."
Alex shrugged. "He's got trust issues, although he didn't threaten to kill me when I showed up......"
