He narrowed his eyes at her and growled.
"You don't stop caring until you've been through it for your whole life. You only stop caring when you've been through so much pain, you can't bear it anymore. THAT'S when you stop caring. You stop caring what people think of you, what people do to you, or say to you. You stop caring if you live or die, eat or starve. I don't want to hear "I don't care anymore". You've never had to fight and kill other kids your age, when you were 10. You've never been punished for the slightest mistake have you? I don't mean a little spank from your ma. I mean whipped and beat until you can't walk...can't even open your eyes. To the point where you've screamed so much your throat is raw. Don't tell me you don't care, until you know what that feels like."

Deep in the bowels of the castle lurked a fearsome beast. It could sense the mortals running around above it. It could feel their energy and magic and it craved it. "Survive while you can little humans. I'll be seeing you soon." It laughed a horrible screech laugh and ducked into a tunnel. Its large black body formed shadows and the air seemed to drop forty degrees. It was coming......

Alex could feel a chill. "Is it just me, or did it suddenly get waaay colder in here?"
Alex looked at Jade and Angelina. She was nervous, last time there had been a fight she'd had to take care of both of them.

Alex put the crystal in her pocket and pulled out her wand. "So, do we just run out and attack? Or do either if you have a plan?"

Jade felt weak, only having daggers.

Alex held her breath, waiting for something to jump out at them. She raised her wand and prepared to fight.
Alex looked at Angelina. "What's wrong? What is it? Did you see the thing?"
Jade growled.
"Let's kill it!"

"What is it?" Alex had visions of horrible monsters with teeth and claws.
Alex turned to Jade. "Please tell me you know how to kill giant lizards."

"Arena. We had to fight lions, boars, jaguars, tigers." He said nonchalantly.
"Let's kill it." He slid the shield on his left arm. He didn't use shields a lot, but he'd been trained with one. He pulled out a long dagger, about as long as his forearm.
Alex clenched her fists little. "I guess I could attack it as a werewolf. I've got razor sharp claws and fangs when I transform."
Jade kept the blade up, sticking out on top of the shield.

Alex pulled out her wand and started to cast spells. "Incendio! Petrificus Totalus! Stupefy!"
Jade slashed its nose with his dagger, readjusting his grip on the shield.
Alex was furious. Her wand wasn't cutting it this time. She shoved it into her pocket and pulled out her last dagger. She sighted, aimed, and threw it at the monster's face.
Jade ran fully speed, ramming his shield into the Lizards face, while jabbing his knife in the monsters chest. Blood spurted on his shirt, and pants.
Alex pulled put her bow and began firing arrow after arrow at it, but she only had a few arrows left in her quiver. She ignored the worry and focused on firing.
(Why she shooting, she has a chnace to hit Jade lol))
Jade whammed the shield into the side of the creatures skull, pulling out his dagger. He made a deep xut on the lizard's front leg.

(Lol, she was trained by Will, Halt, and Gilan. She won't hit Jade)
Jade grunted under the weight.
Alex rushed forward. "Did we do it? Is it dead?"
Jade pulled himself up, and struggled to breathe.
"T-Thanks."
