Good luck with your challenge, Denise. I love your idea of reading one book per year, and can vouch for The Great Alone, Truly Madly Guilty, The End of Your Life Bookclub, and Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. I'm excited to see what you think!
I do like your idea. That way you'll get to read across the years, get rid of some dusty books and also some of your shiny new ones.

I've started doing a dusty book challenge the past couple of years, trying to finally get to books that have been neglected on my bookshelves. It's a great challenge.

Nice way of organizing your challenge. Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is one of my all time favorites. Also The Great Alone was very good, too. Truly Madly Guilty was not my Liane Moriarty favorite, but I've read other books of hers and enjoyed, so I think it was just my mood at the time. Hope you'll enjoy your selections, happy reading!
Finished
. Gave it 3 stars. It was an ok book. I thought I would like it more but it dragged and just seemed boring to me. I had to force myself to finish it.
Finished
, gave it 4 stars. The story is told in a dual-time storyline which made it a very engaging story. I enjoyed the huge twist that comes about half way thru the book and definitely didn't see it coming. Another book by Jennifer McMahon that did not disappoint.
Denise wrote: "For 2022 I am going to focus on reading books that are sitting on my bookshelf. I will use the same formula as last year with picking one from each of the last 16 years.1. 2022 [bookcover:The Chi..."
I just got The People We Keep after "getting to know" the author or Twitter (goodreads and dog topics I follow.
Just finished
, gave it 4 stars. It was a fun, humorous, light read and I quite enjoyed the back history of the WASP contribution to the war.
Finished
, gave it 4 stars. A story that spins a charming tale of poverty, love and sacrifice. The story is told from the point of view from the children of one of the main characters and spans generations with the same premise that what choices we make in life can change our course of life. The author really knows how to bring her characters to life.
Finished
, gave it 4 stars. James Patterson never disappoints, and this book didn't either. Two stories of real life murders. It was an easy quick read. Real life stories that read like fiction.
Finished
, gave it 4 stars. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Started watching the series on Netflix and I am hooked.

I thought Virgin River sounded interesting and glad you enjoyed it. I did not know it was on Netflix. Now, I start watching that and get distracted from Reading.
I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed Virgin River. There's a series on Netflix? Hmmm...maybe I have to move that series up. I have Book #13 in that series that was given to me by a friend, and I am always hesitant to start a series with that many books, no matter how well recommended it is. This gives me some hope. :-)
Completed
, gave it 4 stars. I loved the characters and the story line. I loved the recipes even more, going to have to try a few.4 more left
Completed
, gave it 5 stars. This book was inspirational, powerful and emotional for me. It made me laugh, cry and made me think. I took away with me so many things after finishing this book that made me change my perspective on life and living it to the fullest. I can say that I haven't read most of the books that the author read with his mother in their book club, but I have added a few of those onto my never ending TBR. One of the quotes that really stuck with me was "“That’s one of the things books do. They help us talk. But they also give us something we all can talk about when we don’t want to talk about ourselves.”
Finished
, gave it 4 stars. Charming and delightful short story. The narrator of the story Maddie was compassionate and was portrayed as a friend that anyone would be lucky to have. I felt the ending was rushed and could have added a few more chapters to tie the story up better.
Finished
, gave it 4 stars. A very inspirational and compelling story about how love can last forever. I enjoyed the characters and the tough choices they had to make. By the end you can see how the bitter and sweet life can be.One more book left.

Glad you enjoyed this one. I have the book and just need to read it.
Good luck choosing that last book, that is always the hardest; trying to figure out how to end the season/challenge.

For my final book I completed
, gave it 4 stars. This book will make you sad, happy and mad over the course of the story. I enjoyed it very much, it was well written and kept me entertained the whole way through.
Congratulations! This last one is on my TBR, and hope to get to read it next year. Happy reading in 2023!
Congratulations! Nice to see you enjoyed Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet which is on my list for 2023. I also found The End of Your Life Book Club such an inspirational read. If nothing else, it introduced me to Wallace Stegner.
