November 2021 - A Character Whose Religion You Know Little About

Our November mini challenges were drawn from the same bowl of suggestions the three 2022 prompts were drawn from, so everyone had an extra chance at having theirs selected!

This could be a minor or major character, and could be Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Confucianism, Christianity, Taoism, Judaism, or any others!

I am planning to read: Peace Is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life (Mindfulness / Buddhism)—Thich Nhat Hanh, which has received quite high reviews by several of my friends. Looking forward to it!

This sounds like a really good book, but has it something to do with religion?

I listened to OtherWords for Home, which was on the Listopia for this prompt. I thought it was dry good and although it is described as a Middle Grade book, I did not find it too childish. I enjoy books about different cultures particularly people who have immigrated. I did learn some things about the Islam religion, but the focus was on the main character’s challenges trying to fit in her new home in Cincinnati.

Yikes--this is going to be too hard for me, since I have read about many religions, have had friends from all the ones you have listed and don't have time this month to search for a little known one.

I know, I know, not normal!

Another sizable religion from Asia is the Sikh religion, but again I have read about this and also met and chatted about this with Sikhs (I lived in Vancouver for some years). This could easily fit in with a read set in India or various other places (there are Sikhs all over the world, I think.)
