Did you read this play in a textbook or somewhere else?Was this story geared towards children, teens, or adults?
I watched it as a child in Kingston's rose theatre. I think it's a folk tale but I don't know where from or anything other than what I remember watching. It may have been for children but I spoke to a friend who knows of the story but they don't know what it's called either.
It sounds like one of the stories from Arabian nights where the wife eats a grain of rice at a time using a pin/needle and the husband can't figure out why as he is very rich and gets delicious meals prepared for her everyday.
One day he follows her at night when he catches her sneaking away and finds out that she is digging up corpses with another mystical creature and eating them.The next day at dinner he says a phrase that 'we have foods her of all types from delicious foreign dishes to meals that taste like a corpse' She understands that he had caught her so she turns him into a dog and drives him out of the house.
Then something something happens and he is back to human and then turns her into a horse and punishes her by riding her around the kingdom and whipping her till she bleeds.
He is narrating this story to a king when he was caught punishing the horse and questioned for this cruelty.
That's the one THAT'S THE ONE!! do you know what it's called? I'd love to read it and show my friend.

it's a story about a woman that eats rice one grain at a time and at night she goes out to eat humans and her husband finds out that's why she doesn't eat much so she turns him into a horse (I think I was in primary school) so about 15 years ago (it was a play but it must have a book and I'd still want to know what it's called)
