Duncan Campbell | 2 comments Hi,
Like you guys I am fascinated by the idea of a 'collapse' or dramatic change in society - and this is the basis of my writing. However if we EXTEND current economic trends into the future there is a 'apocalypse' for the many -but the uber rich escape - in the case of Foehammer to gated cities and airships.
Sorry to mention 'the Foehammer world' but as writers we spend a long long long time creating this things and become single track minded about it.
Happy to hear views on the dual nature of future visions - ie what is 'horror' for some might not affect the others.

Jim Vuksic An astute and accurate observation, Duncan. As you point out, one person's utopia may be another person's hell.

Any attempt to create a perfect social structure out of the ashes of a destroyed world must include the elimination of the institutions, philosophies, and individual behavorial patterns that contributed to the destruction of the world in which they thrived. The difficulty rests in the fact that good or evil, like beauty, resides in the eye of the beholder.
