lol this is the opposite phenomenon to the usual though so it’s been throwing me off and idk why it’s been happening to me. These books aren’t hyped people HATE them 😂😂 and I’ve been loving them. So idk what to call that. Like anxious people got so many 2 star reviews on my feed and it literally made me cry and I’ve been eating Nine Perfect Strangers up it’s so good.
Hype doesn’t usually effect me or the opposite of it. I recently read verity, very hyped I saw like 5 5 star reviews in a row and it just wasn’t that good to me. Whatever most people think seems to be the opposite of my opinion so far this month😭 and I bought Nine Perfect Strangers despite the bad reviews bc I love character driven stories and … I was right at least so far! I take most peoples reviews w a grain of salt because everyone has such different tastes lol. Like I’m pretty sure if I read fantasy my reviews for those books would be a loooot lower than most peoples because it’s just not my thing, but to other people it’s great. So I always keep in mind that ratings are so heavily based on personal preference 😂
I do read other reviews tho bc obviously on booksta it’s kind of the point and I like to support my girlies even if it’s book I haven’t read. I don’t read spoiler reviews but don’t mind normal ones. They usually give me an idea of whether I’d like it or not based on what they liked and disliked.
Wonder if it’ll keep going or if I’ll align w the majority with my other books this month
Well, I plan on reading Anxious People sometime so we'll see if I love it or hate it 😂

A Man Called Ove is the superior of the two I’ve read so far but I loved them boooottth. I have My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry on the tbr for this month though I’m wishing I would’ve gotten beartown 😅 maybe for Christmas

I kind of want to do it now with one of her other books since we read all of the Miss Marple ones, maybe Murder on the Orient Express? Because we read the books for fun, we weren't actually going very in depth with it, and it looks so cool!!
Seems fun! Definitely a December thing maybe lol because that seems like it’ll take some time, at least more time than just reading it and giving it your best guess once you finish the chapters without gathering all the clues and doing deeper analysis😂😂 my classes are winding down in Nov. and I have finals the first week in Dec. so definitely won’t have the energy this month to care enough to investigate well since I’ll be studying a lot😩😂 but I’m down in December if you’d like to do it.
Yess, of course, December is summer vacay for me so I'll have more time also
It’s always so weird how we talk about school and it’s always opposite because of where we live lol because it’ll be winter break for me and school is supposed to start back in January, but I’m only taking one class and it doesn’t start until March so I guess I’m on an extended break😂 I still have work and I have to study for some tests I have to retake to apply to med school so🤩 December is probably the only month I’ll be relaxing in😭
Yeah, it's so weird and even though I've been living here for years, I still associate the holidays with snow 😂😂😂But I do love that my birthday is in the summer but ofc I miss the snow sooo much :(

It's not my usual book plus I can't really say I enjoyed it but it was very informative? lmao
Lol I usually rate nonfiction a lot looser than fiction. Though I don’t read a ton of nonfiction either lol. I usually give 5 stars unless something was glaringly wrong like personal bias, misinformation (which obviously doesn’t count for opinion pieces) so on blah blah blah. I’d probably take off is writing is too dense or hard to understand for the average person.
But this one was good it’ll probably get 5 stars! It opened my eyes to a lot of stuff behind the scenes. Like… literal SPIES? I thought the title was joking 😭😭 i didn’t know just how elaborate some of these cover ups were and seeing all of this from Ronan’s perspective and how hard he had to fight on a story he should’ve have had to fight on at all .. insane
yesss! I kind of wanted to read just based on the "spy" part of the title because I love spies lol and although not what I expected it was still pretty good
It's still pretty insane how this is nonfiction :(

This is one of those classics that’s been so hyped up in my head that I’m gonna be so sad if I don’t like it😭😭😭And I got home at 12 today and JUST finished my hw due today and I still have some to do tomorrow. 7 hours of (almost - i took a couple breaks I’ll admit) doing homework and it’s still not all gone
Yess, I'm excited too!And saaaame, today was just non-stop zoom meetings with my classmates for group projects and we still haven't finished :( At least what I'm doing now is solo lol because I've had enough human conversations for today 😭

Mine has 303??? But it includes lots of weird stuff like Notes, Chronology and A Note on the text so if we exclude that it has 250 lmao

So now, I normally wait a few months before reading something that's hyped up. Also, I don't really read reviews unless I've already read the book lol. And that has made me form my own opinions.
