TART Challenge - Round 4 - Snakes n Ladders (14)
Let me look at the other authors you listed. This way by the time LaurLa and Louise weigh in, we might have a narrowed down list lol.
So from the suggested authors I can doRhys Bowen
Nora Roberts
Victoria Laurie
T J Klune
Ilona Andrews
Debbie Macomber - I can only access this in ebook/paperback form so would take longer
I can do Nora Roberts - do we know if she'd accept JD Robb for the task of has to be NR?Edit: asked in Q&A
Either way, I can do it
LaurLa wrote: "MKat approved JD Robb so that’s even better for me. Prolly I’ll start over the weekend."Ooh that’s even better

The Awakening by Nora Roberts
Date: 10/8
Pages: 438
Rating: 3 stars
I think that's the first Nora I've read that wasn't actually a romance, the first trilogy where there isn't a new couple each book that are interwoven. It was really unexpected and I'm still kind of confused about it all.

Shadows in Death by J.D. Robb Date read: 08/10/21

How it qualifies: JD Robb is a pseudonym of team’s selected author Nora Roberts - stated on Goodreads author blurb for JD Robb: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
Review: I haven’t read one of the ‘In Death’ series books for ages - but immediately felt as though I had rejoined friends as if I’d never left them. A woman is brutally knifed to death and Eve is there at the scene. Rourke sees a man in the crowds - an arch enemy from his past who is a cruel contract killer. Rourke knows he is next on the hit list so the hunt is on to find the killer. The story unfolds and there are many twists and turns and revelations from the past. Throughout it all Eve and Rourke keep the love going between them as horror surrounds them.

How It Fits: JD Robb also writes as Nora Roberts
Review
I really enjoyed this, Rourke takes Eve to the theatre to watch a play when the leadng man is stabbed. It was interesting to watch the way Eve and Roarke interact especially Eve's attempts at a romantic dinner, and I really need one of the "sober-up" pills that Eve orders Peabody to take.

Review:
This installment fully satisfied all my expectations. I got my Eve-Roarke fix, Peabody was characteristically herself, Mavis was nutty and the bad guys were caught. I did feel like the author tried a little too hard giving a deeper justification as to why the bad guys did their bad guy thing. It would have worked just as well to leave them as sociapaths. But still a good, satisfying read for me.

Her last trilogy, Chronicles of The One, was like that too. I think it might be my favorite of her books though. It was soooo good, but way too close to what was going on in 2020 when I read it!

This is a book that has had polar reviews but I loved it. Sarah meets Eddie on a trip back to London and spend a week together where they have an instant connection before having to seperate. As the story progresses we find out that their connection runs deeper but not in the way we are led to believe.

Review:
This book. It gripped me and didn't let go until the last page. I may have hugged it when I was done. Sam and Alva are just so perfect together and their journey to happiness wasn't easy but man oh man, it was worth the ride. A little bit of paranormal, a little bit of mystery, a whole lot of female badassery and a lot of very sweet romance. I wouldn't change a single thing

Review:
As one of my favorite authors, I expected to love this like an old blanket. I didn't actually. I ended up really liking it but it took me longer than expected to get into it again. There seemed to be a lot of chaos at the beginning that was hard for me to follow, that also could have totally been me since I was also listening to portions as I was driving. I also didn't much like the first couple of sex scenes - maybe they were realistic (nobody really has all those awesome smexy times most books have from the beginning, right?), but I wasn't looking for realistic! Anyway, still a great read!

Review: I love Christmas, and I am a Macomber fan - well her Christmas books. Some of her other romances are a bit average and one I read last week was horrendous. So was SO happy to her sucked in from page one and spent the afternoon reading solidly until just now when I finished. The case of mistaken identity from a stupid FBI agent added to the mix as the FBI chased the unsuspecting couple across part of the USA.
Thanks to Loiuse who recently read the book that is at the top of my queue, I'll be reading Swamp Team 3

I read the first a long time ago and wasn't crazy about it. I don't love this series but it is fun if I remind myself not to take it seriously. I do laugh out loud though, so that's a plus!

Another zany episode for Miss Fortune! I do enjoy these, they are similar to Stephanie Plum without the never-ending triangle (at least so far). I keep wanting Fortune to be more competent than she is because she's a CIA assassin but the crazy ladies keep talking her into trouble! I laughed out loud a lot in this one.

Oof, this one is going to be tricky to organize I think. Here's some thoughts from me based on what I own/can easily get but I'm open to other ideas, obviously.
From Stacie's listI am currently reading these series:
Also, can we consider In Death or Stephanie Plum series - those are long series that most people seem to be able to pick up at any time.
How about we all go for the “In Death” series then?I have Jill Shalvis books - but not that series and we are required to read the same series.
