Okay, Mather seems like a good guy and I sensed pain in him - that hand on her back... - but I just can't get myself to love them together and every time I see Theron I smile so wide.
THERON MY SWEET BAE, AT THE END.. omg I just hope you won't turn out to be a bad guy because I'm falling for you.. He's completely different from his father, I know he'd be completely different king, he'll probably help Meira and he just wants to make her feel good. That's so hot tbh. He's constantly reassuring her that everything will be fine, ohhh my heart.
And we can see Sir is hurt by all that and he's arguing with Mather. I just wonder if it was Mather's idea.. because he's so angry that he had to "sell" Meira...

Overall feelings after 50% of book
(view spoiler)[Okay I like how it's not typical love story at least it doesn't seem so because here's Mather secretly in love in Meira but lowkey she knows or at least hopes he loves her AND she wants him to love her BUT she's lowkey admiring Theron. Like I know it's not love yet, hell, I'm sure he doesn't love her himself he's just a real gentelman 🥵 and knows the situation and wants her to feel the most comfortable as she can.

About the plot... idk I wasn't into it at first but I'm starting to feel it more. Sometimes chapters seems really long but there isn't a lot of information in them and everything is happening so fast. (hide spoiler)]

Okay... I just finished and the ending seems good. I am a bit angry at Sir. Like it was Hanna's secret but she was dead and Meira deserved to know who she was. The expectation that Mather had to live upto now would have been so frustrating. Poor Mather.

I don't think I'll continue with the series though. I felt like this was wrapped up enough and I like a good open ending like this one.

Meira, the fight, how you gave them strength, you freed them, and Nessa saying she always believed in her - I'm not gonna lie i had tears in my eyes.
HE IS ALIVE, YESSSS, Like I said I didn't really like him, he was okay, but I still wanted him to create a bond with Mather, with Meira, be her general, help her rule.

Final thoughts:
(view spoiler)[Overall I really liked book, it wasn't magnificant but def worth reading and I'm grabbing 2nd book right away. So about the secret of Meira: I feel like you didn't understand that part. They hid it so she could be somehow safe and Angra wouldn't pursue to get her so much. With Mather it was safe because he wouldn't be able to use conduit or magic anyway because he was male heir and only female heir could use it in Winter. With knowing Meira is Hannah's child he'd do anything to get her so she wouldn't grow and use magic against him.
I wonder if Meira could use her inner voice to tell Mather not to break the staff but I understand she was new to magic.
About Mather - I feel he's relieved he isn't a king but also dissapointed, his whole life was about being a future king and beating Angra and what is he without that? Without a sense of life? I'm sure in the 2nd part he'll try to find his place and of course connect with his parents. And as I see he'll probably become one of Meira's generals next to Sir and end up with Nessa?
Btw I lowkey liked Conall he reminded me of Azriel A Court of Thorns and Roses (❁'◡'❁)
What else - IT MUST BE WEIRD HAVING A MOTHER IN YOUR HEAD XDD I wonder if she can read her thoughts lmao
And Theron - ahh my love, after seeing he went after her - I'm his. Rescue me too D: Tho probably in 2nd part there'll be a rollercoaster and sth will hapen because I don't believe they'll end up happily ever after right away PLUS if he's a future king and she's a queen where will they reside? Meira losing control over and over again and no one noticing? She used her magic in Dummer and was so afraid that someone’s noticed but when she “pushed” her guards in Yakim then what? It’s okay there? I don’t get it..
And I don’t like the way she tries to portray Theron as a villain. He seems lost and truly believes in his cause but a bit overreacting. Besides, it seems that no kingdom has a perfect way to rule their people. Only winter seems “pure” ugh a little bit of Mary Jane here 😒 (hide spoiler)]

Okay so obviously we know that Meira will end up with Mather, she practicaly said it BUT THERON'S FIGHT!! Oh please, he's so god damn fine, he gives me Dorian [Throne of Glass] vibes. My boo was brainwashed like I thought at the beginning :( He'll probably die and sacrifice himself for Meira, because also we all know he deeply loves her 🥵 But the last fight, to free her and what he told Mather to take her 😭 damnn whyy, I know Angra will probably go into his mind and see what happened I just hope he'll still have some more power to fight him.
Jesse - coward... no comment on that but I guess it's normal with people who have been broken for such a long period of time. He just gave up.
Okay in the next book I want to see Meira's, Theron's and Mather's POV. Like in this book, Mather's one was tbh useless but in the 3rd one they'll all be split!
