HA voted for Blister by Jeff Strand to be the number two group read selection.

Please use spoiler tags where appropriate and have a good time.

Montzalee Wittmann (montziew) | 60 comments I have this one already!

destiny ♡ howling libraries (howlinglibraries) | 321 comments I haven't done a group read in a while but I'm going to try to join in on this one!

Anne (w/ an E) (mzcatnthehat) | 826 comments I have this one, too. I will try to join.

Jen from Quebec :0) (muppetbaby99) | 397 comments Awesome. I love when a group read is of a book I already own! (Plus, I love Jeff Strand). The other group read (Lost Village) is 15$ for the Kindle version- yikes. Pricey for me atm, even though it HAS been on my TBR for 2 years now.... --Jen from Quebec :0)

Welcome to the group read. It's a great way to discover new books.

I don't think I've read anything by Jeff Strand that I haven't liked. Several of his books are among my all time favs.

Frances Carden | 60 comments I honestly didn't think I would like this at all, but I love it. The humor works well with the tone of the story. I'm 40% in and incredibly invested. Glad I took a chance and read this.

Amanda | 96 comments I just finished reading this book and really enjoyed it. I had passed over this book previously because I was not sure that I would like it but I'm glad I gave it a chance. I love the humor that Jeff Strand adds to his books.

Montzalee Wittmann (montziew) | 60 comments I finished it and it was nothing like I thought it was going to be! Big surprise for me! Really enjoyed the change up!

Winter Arcane (vanuslux) | 15 comments I voted for this one because it intrigued me, but I just got started on it yesterday. I blew through 2/3rds of it, and would have likely read the whole thing if I'd had a little more free time. It has been really enjoyable so far...an oddly light read for such grim subject matter.

As an aside, this is my first time reading anything by Jeff Strand. I'm already looking forward to checking out more of his work.

Glad you enjoyed Blister.
If I could recommend another one of Strand's books, it would be Wolf Hunt. Something about it is so representative of his work with quirky characters and humor.

I've finished Blister and was very satisfied with it, so I'll take that into strong consideration for a near future read (I never read two books by the same author back to back), especially since it's available on Kindle Unlimited.

I LOVED WOLF HUNT!

JasonA (jasonaa) I liked this one a lot. It wasn't really a horror story, but I enjoyed it. It was a lot funnier than I was expecting.

Have you read anything by Jeff Strand before?
Humor is something he's really good at. He's one of the best at combining certain scary elements (yep, not always what I'd call horror) and humor together to make a great story.

Frances Carden | 60 comments Finished this over the weekend. This was so good; I really didn't think I would care for it, especially the humor, but it was the right mix of macabre and sardonic. Thinking about getting this in paperback form to have permanently in my library.

I absolutely love his dark humor--I can't remember how many quotes I wrote down from this one!!

message 26: by Lee (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lee | 10 comments I wasn't sure if I'd be able to squeeze this one in this month, considering how late I joined the group, but I'm so glad I did. It was an entertaining read, although not really a "horror" story. The humour threw me a little bit sometimes, and some situations were a little over the top, but overall it was an easy read that kept me engaged. The banter between Jason and Rachel was fun, and I'd definitely recommend this book as a nice light weekend read (well light if you like horror or crime thrillers XD).

I read the Haunted Forest Tour, but only thought it was okay. I'll blame the co-author for that one. I'll be checking out some of his other stuff after reading Blister. Any suggestions?

Some of my favs are Wolf Hunt Benjamin's Parasite Dweller

JasonA (jasonaa) Thanks WendyB! Bought Wolf Hunt and adding the other two to my to read list!

Frances Carden | 60 comments Yeah, I liked the Haunted Forest Tour, but didn't love it (the main baddie put me off), but this one makes me rethink my opinion on Jeff Strand. I'll be trying more of his books.
