This was a weak point in the novel for me. I guess we as readers were supposed to realize that their super attraction to each other bypassed any sense for Samantha in being weary of a guy who just showed up especially in fact of what was happening. I think this book was written around 2001 and that was a common theme in romantic suspense then. Doesn't bother me overmuch but I did notice it. Lucky Ty turned out to be a keeper but Sam did have a bad history with men previously that's for sure.
I agree again with Lisa. I kind of thought Sam was a little stupid for trusting anyone, especially Ty, who had basically been stalking her. Really, I never got to a point until near the end of the story that I thought she should have trusted him.
I also thought she was too trusting, especially as she obviously had a stalker and he is a new stranger in her life - not the most intelligent behavior going on here. For me, the romance was a weaker element although it did grow on me and I did like them as a couple overall.
I agree with all of you. Her trust in Ty so early on didn’t make sense. Lisa, it probably is a reflection of how romance was written back on 2001. I didn’t resume reading romance books until 2010 (stopped in the 80s) and the writing was so much better.
I actually gave up on the romance early on and focused on the mystery/suspense element. Never felt a connection between Sam and Ty.

I agree. The author's writing style is too old school. Sam needed to move carefully considering everything that was going on in her life.
