Ty Wheeler is first introduced when he’s spying on her from his boat. She later meets him as he’s her neighbor. What were your initial thoughts about him before learning what he was up to? When did your opinion of him change, if at all, as the story progressed?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) It was pretty clear that he was going to be the hero of the book. He was described as the archetypal bad boy hunk. Although also clear that he was up to something which was going to cause him grief with the heroine Sam when it was discovered some time after they get together....

Lynn (ftbooklover) Jackson made him seem mysterious by including thoughts he was having that were pretty ambiguous - they could have been taken as sinister. It took awhile in the story for him to him to start to seem more than a threat.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1812 comments At first, I thought he might turn out to be an Anne Stuart kind of hero - morally ambiguous with a darker side as he was obviously planning something against Sam.

That changed quite rapidly though when it became clear that he cared about her.

I had similar impressions to Lynn’s. I was never sure he was going to be a “hero” as the series is described more as mystery than romance. It took me quite some time to trust him, only after it was revealed what he was really up to.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3501 comments I was suspicious of Ty. Initially I thought that he was up to something with Melanie. I didn't put him in the hero category until we find out more about him.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) That's interesting that most of you ladies were suspicious of Ty. I knew whatever he was hiding was probably going to cause trouble later but never doubted he was the bad boy hero.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments I agree with Lynn. I thought he was going to be the hero, but he was having kinda hostile thoughts about Sam and it made me wonder about him. Like Lisa, I knew his backstory was going to be a problem. Of course, my opinion changed but I still thought he should have been more upfront about his why he was there with Sam sooner.
