SOLVED. Sherlock Holmes Pastiche involving real-life artist as main character and a trip to the USA. [s]

I believe I started seeing this book around 2014-2017? I'm looking for a Sherlock Holmes pastiche, that I believe is set during his hiatus? But I know it's without Watson. Instead of Watson, the other "character" with Holmes n artist who was real, and he had an invalid sister. Unfortunately this artist committed su*c*de in real life (sometime after the events of the book) and I can'T REMEMBER IT FOR THe LIFE OF ME. I remember the artist and Sherlock being on a ship at one point, and the artist remembering that his male cousin was a model for artists, and was killed in war? And Sherlock apparently could turn bathtub nobs with his feet? That's all I remember. Anyway, if you can help a girl out, I'd be appreciative.

The cover was blue, I believe, and it was a very simple. No pictures from what I remember. Just text.

the main character was most definitely Sherlock Holmes, but did not feature Watson. Only this real-to-history artist fellow who unfortunately commits su*c*de.

Not a series from my memory.

I know it was a thiCC book.

The time I read it, I was going through some major health problems, and so some of my reading comprehension was lost during that time.

The only other thing I remember was that this artist fellow had a sister who lived in... Boston? (don't quote me on that) with another woman, and this sister was referred to as "a professional invalid."

Gosh it's been so long. Yeah, nothing's in my noggin. I might try to go to the library catalogue from where I checked it out and see what they have.
