Hello fellow MBotF readers,

We are scheduled to start our next book, Reaper's Gale, on Sunday, Sept. 20. I am still working my way through The Bonehunters. I am OK to go ahead with Reaper's Gale, whether I'm ready or not, but I'd like to hear from fellow readers if you are ready to move ahead or if you want a week break.

Please reply so I can set up the folders if needed.

Thanks!!
Kathi

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments I'm ready to go. I don't know if Scott is following tis particular thread, but I do know he is ready to go on the 20th as well. :)

message 53: by Justine (new)

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments If we end up starting a week later because that works better for everyone, that's fine too, of course.

I'm also ready to go. The longer we wait, the more details I seem to forget of this immense and complicated tale. But waiting another week isn't that big a deal, either, if the group prefers.

message 55: by Helen (new)

Helen I'm still at the start of Bonehunters. What with markibg, essay writing and general life, I've not even lifted a book in a week. Too tired...

OK, ready or not, we will move ahead with Reaper's Gale starting on Sept. 20. I will post the folders on Friday of this week when I am back home (yes, I'm currently away again but not on vacation--this is my week of caregiving for my dad and sister) and have access to my book for dividing up the threads.

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments Hey Kathi don't push yourself; if you don't end up managing it, I think we are all ok writing th extra week. :)

The discussion topics are up for Reaper's Gale. Here we go!

And PLEASE remember, anyone can post other topics, so if you want to discuss warrens, geography, the military, etc., please feel free to start a topic.

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 99 comments Is there a planned date to start Toll the Hounds? Wanted to try and plan my next couple reads with that in mind.

message 60: by Helen (new)

Helen Thank be early November til mid December, I'd guess.

message 61: by Justine (new)

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments I assumed it was November 1 going by the marked finish date on the last thread of Reapers Gale.

message 62: by Justine (new)

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments That's the schedule I'm planning around anyway:)

message 63: by Scott (new)

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 99 comments Sweet, thanks! I wasn't sure

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments lol! Scott, did you not check my calendar thread? I put it on there for you:)

Hello fellow Malazan Book of the Fallen readers:

The folders for Toll the Hounds are going up today, with the official read starting Sunday, Nov. 1.

I am still only halfway through Reaper's Gale but I hope to do lots of reading over the next few weeks while I am not traveling so much.

message 67: by Justine (new)

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments Thanks, Kathi! I'll be starting in the first week of November if not the actual 1st. :)

Helen Nearly fainted when I saw finished next to Toll the Hounds, just as I was closing in. I'm around halfway too Kathi.

I am excited that my husband started Gardens of the Moon last night. He will not participate in the discussions but I'm just glad he decided to start the series before I have forgotten everything!

Helen Think I've already forgotten loads!

reading Toll the Hounds, seeing characters again from a few books ago, makes me realize 1. how much I've already forgotten and 2. just how many threads he weaves into these books

Hello to all the intrepid MBotF readers!

We will start Dust of Dreams on December 6. I will post the folders sometime next week. The penultimate book in our series read! (I always wanted to use that word in a sentence.)

message 74: by Helen (new)

Helen It's one of my favourites.

Just a note about the discussion for Dust of Dreams. Because of the holidays (and the fact that I am not yet finished with Toll the Hounds), we will be reading Dust of Dreams over 6 weeks instead of our usual 5 weeks. The discussion folders will clearly state which chapters are being covered each week. As always, feel free to read faster and post comments in the appropriate folders.

Helen Thanks Kathi.

We are coming up on the one year anniversary of this series read--we started Feb. 1, 2015. Wow!

And I know we have several readers who are taking a break before finishing the series. No worries!

And we have some readers who are plunging ahead--again, no worries.

We are scheduled to start the final book, The Crippled God, on Jan. 17, so I will be putting up the folders soon.

I want to thank everyone who has joined the series read!

Justine (justine_ao) | 636 comments Wow! That went fast actually:) I'm one of the ones on a bit of a break at the moment, but you've done an awesome job Kathi!

message 82: by Helen (new)

Helen I'm slowly reading through, they take ages. Not sure why that is.

Because they are LONG, and complex. And LONG.

Folders for the final book, The Crippled God, are posted.

Please note that each folder covers one of the "internal" books in the book EXCEPT for Book 7 (Your private shore), which I divided because it is so long. That means the last folder (dated 3/6) is for Chapter 24 and the 2 Epilogues.

message 93: by Scott (new)

Scott (thekeeblertree) | 99 comments I'm excited to see everyone's comments through The Crippled God. I thought it was an excellent conclusion, pretty powerful stuff

message 94: by Helen (new)
