Docxen | 159 comments I liked the book ok but I don't see the magic so many other people do. Perhaps this is because it was not a book i read as a child. What's everyone else's opinions?

Nathan | 34 comments I will admit that The Hobbit was a bit of a disappointment to me. I liked it, but I didn't love it as much as I did LOTR.

message 3: by Wendy (new)

Wendy Cooper | 64 comments I did not read it as a child. I have no sentimental memories. It simply took me somewhere I've never been and made me curious for more. The Hobbit was my gateway drug to Middle Earth.

SciFiNow | 89 comments I think for myself and many other people the hobbit is just an intro to lotr. When you start lotr you arent completely lost.

I agree with Doc. I enjoyed the hobbit. However, I had already read many fantasy series before I got around to the hobbit so it didn't have the same grab on me that others did. You always remember your first
