As you make plans, see if any of your reads fit the Tasks listed in message 4.
If you have a book you REALLY want to read let us know. We can see if we can make it fit.
Looking forward to seeing your choices.
Michelle wrote: "....I'm in a reading flow again the last few days, so I hope I manage this :p. Less reading until thursday! :p..."Like your attitude! You are going manage just fine. :)
Wow!! Checking in with the team for the first time and I already feel like I'm behind! I'll start with checking out the spreadsheet. Can't wait to start!
Okay, so checked out the spreadsheet and read through the prompts...again...wow! What amazing work and dedication! I'm not super picky, and if possible I'd prefer someone else to put my books and what not into the spreadsheet so I don't mess it up! If you want to let me know which prompts we still need to fill, I can select books based on them.

**Heart Pounding! Thought you weren't coming!
The Tasks that we still need books for are in message 4. (Always changing.)
If you have a book you REALLY want to read, we have enough variety that we probably can swap some around to accommodate you.
So happy you have arrived.
Nikki wrote: "....if possible I'd prefer someone else to put my books and what not into the spreadsheet so I don't mess it up!..."Either Ziggy or I will be happy to do that for you.
So sorry to cause any stress! I will look at the list and figure out my books today, then post them here in our thread :)
Nikki wrote: "So sorry to cause any stress! I will look at the list and figure out my books today, then post them here in our thread :)"I'm over it!
Let's have some fun together. :D
Yes! Fun all the way! Here are my reading plans and prompts I'll work on:1. A book featuring a bibliophile, bookworm, librarian, or bookshop: The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek
2. Read the 25th book on your TBR list: The Trial of Lizzie Borden
3. Read a book from the Best Books of 2012 listopia: either Me Before You or The Raven Boys
Okay, I have entered 4 books into the spreadsheet, correctly, I hope!
Planned:
John Banville: The Sea
Zadie Smith: NW
Graham Swift: Last Orders
Paul Auster: City of Glass
Should I list potential categories here, as well? I tried to find empty spaces according to the spreadsheet and message #4. Let me know if I need to do anything differently.

Your choices are on the spreadsheet and I was able to assign them to you. There is no title there for "Best Book of 2012", it can be filled in when you decide.
Thanks for finding books to fit the tasks that were yet to be assigned.
Hope you enjoy The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. I thought it was excellent.

Your books have all been assigned on the spreadsheet.
You do not need to list the other potential matches here, but if you find other matches that haven't been marked on the spreadsheet, let me know.
Good list, thank you.
@EveryoneI have inserted an additional column, for each of you, next to your current books.
Just in case you can read one more. HINT, HINT!
(Also it makes the Count formula easier to deal with.)

I'm pretty sure I can read at least one more book, but I'm not sure if I can fill any of the leftover prompts, except for the 25 chapter one (but that one fits a lot of books I guess and I don't want to make it too difficult for EL). In 'de selectie' there might also be making new friends and/or a party, but I'm not sure, since I can only know for sure when I finish it :p. The two books with at least 25 chapters that I have left are 'the selectie' en 'long road to mercy' (which also fits the prompt starting with a L. It's a bit of a puzzle now at the end :p

Almeta,
I have only listed my first three books.
Would you like us to list all the books we are definitely planning to read during the readathon? Just want to be clear.
ETA: I checked our spreadsheet and see that you've added lots of books, so I added six more of mine to the spreadsheet.
oshizu wrote: "...Would you like us to list all the books we are definitely planning to read during the readathon? Just want to be clear....."Everyone has checked in but El. She signed up for 2 books.
Sooo, if you can fill any of the blanks spots, now is the time!
I moved the ones that you just added to be next to your other 3. (If it is not a problem, I'd like to move them all to the other end of the sheet. You and I are taking entire screens!)
Ziggy wrote: "I just gathered my four books and see that Mornings with Rosemary has 68 chapters just in case books need to be moved around,"Yeah, I started to investigate if more were possible from this title, and discovered the number of chapters. I added that to the cell with a note to that effect.
Thanks for offering to be flexible. We'll see what happens. ;D

Haha, I thought I was losing my mind when I revisited the spreadsheet and my books weren't in back of your Aristotle & Dante.
Yes, I've only added books that fit yet-to-be-completed prompts.
Also, yes, please relocate my book columns wherever you wish.
:D
oshizu wrote: ".....Haha, I thought I was losing my mind when I revisited the spreadsheet and my books weren't in back of your Aristotle & Dante...."Do me a favor and double check your qualifying prompts for
Bellwether and Nursing Home Murder. I was interrupted while working on those two and am not sure I have them marked correctly.
Almeta wrote: ".Do me a favor and double check your qualifying prompts forBellwether and Nursing Home Murder. I was interrupted while working on those two and am not sure I have them marked correctly."
Will do that right now.
Edited to add:
*Bellwether is correct
*Nursing Home Murder is not (it doesn't fit the first trio task).
It does fit the 25+-book series prompt plus the author wrote 25+ books/25+ years prompts. (Note: I've replaced this book with another, see msg #85 below)
I'm pretty sure I can come up with a book that has a party. I'm assuming any type of party (dinner party, cocktail party, etc) counts?
Almeta,Since the "book in a series with 25+ book" prompt has already been assigned, I've replaced Nursing Home Murders with:
*泳ぐのに、安全でも適切でもありません Oyogu no ni, anzen de mo tekisetsu de mo arimasen - shelved during the month I joined the group (Aug 2018)

Whew! thought I really went wrong. Thanks for removing the duplicated task.

Thanks Ziggy!

I’ve added Staying On by Paul Scott to the spreadsheet for a book with a party. :)
Regina wrote: "I’ve added Staying On by Paul Scott to the spreadsheet for a book with a party. :)"Yessssssssssssss!
Okay, since my last message didn't really get picked up and now so many prompts are filled, I can read one more book on top of my two, but I don't have a book that fills the prompts anymore :p. I also put in the two I definitely wanted to read and left the other ones to be determined after everyone else, but now everything is filled that fitted the books. So I guess if I read extra books, I'll read them for wildcards :p.I don't really understand the prompt 'making new friends' though. I have 'de selectie' which is about a competition to become rich, where you get cut from your family. So she'll probably make new friends in the book, but I don't know if that fits the prompt :p
This may help for prompt "a book which has been translated into 25+ languages."List of literary works by number of translations

I a..."Oh Michelle, I actually read your message and began investigating what prompts your book would fit. Which turned out to be a few.
There are indeed new friendships made in your book. I am assigning
De Selectie (The Selection) to that prompt.
There was quite a flurry of activity all at the same time yesterday, sorry I missed responding to you sooner.
Enjoy the book.
Ziggy wrote: "....If someone still wants to read another book that fits into one of the prompts I’m already assigned we could switch up the spreadsheet......"
Ziggy, It is great of you to offer a swap.
Michelle won't need to do that, but we should all keep in mind that this option exists for any of the prompts and members.
In fact I like the idea of a swap for "books you shelved in the month you joined this group." It seems to be more difficult for teamies to meet.
Anyone willing to read one of Ziggy's prompts:
a book from one series with 25+ books
a book with a party or anniversary celebration.
a book in a series of 4
OR
a book you shelved in the month you joined this group
????
NEVER MIND

Yes in fact look at this message!!!!
"Michelle wrote: "I have a question about a prompt: I am currently 25 and there is a prompt about books you read when you are 25. Does that mean all of my books that I read fit that prompt :p?"
"Haha, perks of being 25! Unless it’s her birthday today, she is over 25 now. 25 years 1 day also counts as over 25. 😛
Btw, she can interpret it in both ways - read a book that she wished to read by her 25th year, or reread a book that she read after hitting 25. Let’s not make it too hard for her!"
"Almeta wrote: Go for it!"
Ziggy wrote: "....I see that Kristina and Nikki are both reading the book woman of troublesome creek. So another option would be to move Michelle’s Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore to Read 4 books that feature a bibliophile, bookworm, librarian, or bookshop.

Instead of me reading Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, I could read Heart in the Right Place which i shelved when I joined the group. ..."
LOVE IT!
Let's do that.
Ziggy wrote: "...It may be to early in the morning for me but when I was adjusting the spreadsheet it does seem to work, we end up with only 3 books under the book prompt...with my idea........"I still like the swap. It opens prompts that may be easier to fill.
In fact If Michelle says her birthday was after shelving "Penumbra"
(Apr 24, 2020), I may move her again. Finding a book for bookworm/bookstore, etc. would be easier to fill.
I turned 25 on the 26th of August in 2020 ;). I don't really use a TBR list, which is why I find that prompt very hard. I don't keep a list of books I definitely want to read and if I am looking for books to read, it is just what I come across most of the time :p. I shelf books that I find somewhere or seem interesting, but a lot of them are also not available for me since some are not translated and I mostly have access to Dutch books. But if we do assume that the things I shelf are my TBR list, I guess the Penumbra-book is from before I was 25 :p.

Soooo before you turned 25 years of age.
That will fit nicely!!!

When we complete a prompt and are writing it into the Tracking page, do we use Light Pink for highlighting that prompt's text as well?
oshizu wrote: "....When we complete a prompt and are writing it into the Tracking page, do we use Light Pink for highlighting that prompt's text as well?..."Well, hmmmm!
I interpret the instructions to be highlighting on the PLANNING page. Are we supposed to use highlighting on the TRACKING page as well?
LOL! This will teach you all to allow me to captain without having experience in this group! I don't know the culture and rules that well, yet
BUT I am learning. Enjoying myself with the planning stage and swapping things around. I am fortunate to have a great and flexible team.
The spreadsheet instructions are only general. You can decide however you want how we indicate completed prompts on the Tracking page.
However, I'm asking about because I am vision-impaired, which means color-coding helps me a lot.
We are fortunate to have you and Ziggy lead us! <3
oshizu wrote: "...However, I'm asking about because I am vision-impaired, which means color-coding helps me a lot. ..."Then let's do it.
Is there a color that would be more visible to you?
Can we each have our own color?
Lol, any color except white works for me. Which colors? Totally up to you. We'll be typing book titles on the Tracking page in our individual columns though (aligned with the page count columns up top).
I'll go fill one in now, just as an example.
