Is it possible to remove old entries where titles are either duplicates, out-of-print, and being released as a completely new version(not simply a new edition)?

Duplicates can be removed, out-of-print and old versions won't be removed. From the Librarian Manual:Deleting published books from our system is against policy. Goodreads is striving to be a complete database of all published works, including works that are out-of-print. We like our members to be able to add their exact edition to their virtual shelves. Just as a library would not remove a record from its catalog, so do we not remove books from our database.

What about e-books that have been unpublished and are no longer available in any format? Can those be removed?

I have two Kindle editions of the same book listed, one with ASIN and one with the ISBN. What's the best way to get this sorted out? (Title in question: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...)Thanks!

Only Amazon "ebook" editions are identified as Kindle, and they use the Amazon ASIN.
If the ISBN that is identified as ebook will be on all the non-Amazon retail sites, then it is a valid edition.

Actually, what I'm after is ONE ebook edition, not a separate Amazon one. The one at Amazon also uses that same ISBN. Can you just delete the ASIN one only?
Because it's confusing to have two different ebooks listed when they both are published with the same ISBN. I think the ASIN can be added to the ISBN version - what happened was that they were created separately and then refused to merge together...
Goodreads creates records for every edition. Kindle editions across Goodreads use the ASIN. Nook editions use a specific Barnes and Noble identification number, and often Kobo also uses a unique number.The advantage to you is that from each specific number, a reader can access their chosen ebook retailer to purchase your title.
From the Kindle edition page, a reader can connect directly to the corresponding page on Amazon when the ASIN is correct, and the format is identified as Kindle.
And the Kindle ISBN does not show up on the Kindle page on Amazon.

I understand that books cannot be removed from Goodreads. However, I am wondering if there is a way that a book can be tagged as "unpublished" or "retired." Thanks! Sylvia
