Sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything. Putting a list of Shelves that needs attending....and maybe putting in BOLD the name(s) of the person(s) might put a fire under our asses.
I must say it's the least interactive team since I started SOS Bingo a few games ago. I know we all have our own lives to live....

review:
I have always wanted to get in to one of keri Arthur's series but have never been able to get very far with the books I have tried as all the series seem to be linked or in the same world and I always felt like I was missing information when I started any of them but this one did not look so connected so decided to give it a go.
I liked the fact it was set in Australia as not much as I have not read a lot of urban fantasy set here and while I think this series *may* still be set in the same world as some of the author's other series, it didn't feel like I needed a back story or further information than what had been provided in the book itself.
I was actually quite fascinated with the world and the politics of it as well as the story itself and it has definitely whetted my apetite for more. I liked the connection between Lizzie and Aiden and I will probably read further in this series.

I am really enjoying this series and read this book in just a few hours. After having the ending slightly spoilt in the last one, I kinda knew whether this one was heading but it didn't take the fun away. I like to connection between Katie and Owen and I like the premise of the series also. I liked that we got to seand meet most of Katie's family which I think rounded her out as a character a little more.
I cannot wait to get a start on book 5!

I got the ending this book spoilt a little for me which was a pain but I still enjoyed the book anyway. I liked the way this story flowed from the last book and found the whole book really entertaining. I like the spin this author has put on some of the more usual magical tropes and I love the connection between Katie and Owen.
I had a lot of fun reading this book and literally picked up the next book within minutes of finishing this one. Definitely continuing on with this series.

So very true...and I'm quite in the non-posting group. This past year, so MUCH of my RL has gone online...definite screen fatigue. Not to mention all the crazy-ness that happens in RL.
Nikk's reminder of Easter was good...should do something for the wee-grands (I have 2 under 2 now...).
But also need to upload courses as Uni starts the new year...students are registering for classes and the LMS is still empty! (a laughing/crying e-moji goes with that...just a lot of button pushing to transfer stuff over, but....I want to read!
Well, back to work...
Happy Easter to those who celebrate it. And Happy spring/autumn to everyone!
(I'm in the spring hemisphere...gorgeous Sakura blossoms and found a new-2-me tree...a type of Magnolia...enjoying the loveliness!)

READ:When He's an Alpha by Suzanne Wright finished 040221 4.5 stars
REVIEW:
I love everything that Suzanne Wright does. This is the 2nd book in her newest series about the Olympus pride. Tate is the new Alpha and in no hurry to find his true mate. He is currently in a friend's with benefits situation with Havana. After Havana decides to end that arrangement he has to face his feelings for her. On top of that someone has decided to go after Havana.
Both Tate and Havana are strong alpha characters with great chemistry. This book had a great story with drama, action, romance and side kick shenanigans. I was drawn right in and hated when the story came to an end. Can't wait for the next book and more with these characters.

READ: Wild Sign by Patricia Briggs
finished 032821, 4 stars
REVIEW:
Another great addition to the Alpha & Omega series. Always love getting more Anna and Charles. They are sent to investigate the disappearance of a whole community, with Tag coming along as back-up. It is not a fast paced story, but by no means boring. Mrs Briggs does a good job of adding to her world, letting us see the growth of her characters and keeping us hooked till the end. We learn a lot more about Leah, the majority of action happens towards the end of the book and we are left we a great surprise ending that is going to lead to a lot more in this series. Can't wait for more.

I'm a fan of this author duo so any review is extremely biased.
I was not happy with Nevada stepping out and Catalina trying to fill her shoes as Head of House Baylor. I did not find her character mature enough in the previous installment but she stepped up the challenge and delivered.
The story was riveting, nail-biting at times and sprinkled with humor that made it a joy to read.

Thoughts:
Gedeon "Player" Lazaroff meets Zyah...and it's magic and nightmarish. Zyah is of Middle Eastern origin, and there is magic, belly dancing, Alice in Wonderland and bombs. What matches with which character...well, take a guess.
Ms. Feehan stays true to the usual style for the series, and throws in a couple of unexpected twists, and lots of foreshadowing. Also, usual smexy time...and in some other series' that has become too much (more sex than story). This one was OK. I did enjoy the read and will continue with the series.

Review
I love stories where the alien is really 'alien' in either his looks, social views, language and religious beliefs. If he's a mammal, with easy translation devices, have similar social values and visual cues in conversations.....it's not so alien. This author delivers again.
Sarah is an introverted computer programmer roped into some abandoned mine spelunking with her childhood friend. They get separated and and Sarah meets an alien lizardman, Jotaha. Their first meeting does not go well at all because the yan-kanat, the lizard people, hate humans with a passion.
The story is not on the level of say Last Hour of Ghan but it has a very religious culture, strict social order, language barrier, a human trying to integrate into a society that hates her guts and a hero torn between love and duty.
Very entertaining and I will have to check Rampion to understand the references to Titans and gods.

Thoughts:
This is a fun series. Ms. Arthur has an extensive collection of bad monsters, and it is always interesting to see what will come Lizzie's way. This installment of the series was particularly interesting as she and her "husband" had their confrontation, and she interacted with her birth family for the first time in over a decade. I'm really looking forward to the next one...and love the book escapes/vacations during this crazy time.

READ: Dragons Don't Eat Meat by Kim McDougall finished 040921, 3.5 stars
REVIEW:3.5 New author for me. The blurb for the story intrigued me so I gave it a shot. A bit slow in some places but overall it was enjoyable read. Kyra is a supernatural pest controller of sorts. She rescues and takes care of all sorts of mythical creatures. When baby dragon Ollie gets separated from his family she takes him in and promises to help find his family. The adventures begin and there is plenty of drama, interesting characters and a potential romance. I will probably be checking out the next book in this series.

I love this author but the previous Alpha & Omega book took me forever to read so I was a bit apprehensive starting Wild Signs.
It's a slow build up peppered with touching moments, like the sign maker informing you where you are, Lovecraft references, quiet moments playing music (I admit that 11 years of learning classical piano music gives me a soft spot for those kind of themes).
This book renewed my faith in this series and hope to read more especially with the big reveal at the end.

Thoughts:
Lizzie Grace is really one of my favorite main characters from Keri Arthur.
In the latest of the series, she and Belle no longer have to hide, and there are reunions, celebrations, and a rather nasty creature...of course. Lizzie's wild magic is key in protecting them all. Eventually, they catch the revenge-seeking fiend. But, life on the reservation looks like it's going to be shaken up again, sooner if Aidan's mother can arrange it.
So, I'm eagerly awaiting the next novel....think I'll pop on over to the author's page to find out HOW LONG I have to wait...

The plan was simple. Hide out at Veral's homeworld family compound, get Terri the prenatal care she needs and hightail into space once the baby is born. Like all best laid plans....it did not go as easy as that.
I loved the culture and arid desert landscape of Argurumal. I have a thing for aliens that are alien compared to humans and totally enjoyed myself reading the conclusion of this trilogy.
I hope to read more if Veral's family story continues.

READ: The Culling Trials by K.F. Breene finished 041321, 4.5 stars
REVIEW:
This was a great read. This story pulled me right in and I felt like I was right there in the middle of the action. Wild is pulled into a world of magic that she didn't know existed. She pretends to be her younger brother in order to keep him safe and to take his place culling trials for Shadowspell academy.
I love these authors, I believe that this is the first time that I have read any of their work. It definitely won't be the last. There was great writing, good plot, drama, action and suspense. This does end in a cliff cliffhanger but that just made me want to five directly into the next book to keep the story going.
