The Haida crest pole (or 'totem pole') can be seen from every spot in the Museum. In Book One, Dennis who works as a front-of-house gallery attendant, tells the story about the frog who swam to the Haidi Gwaii island off the coast of Canada, and was nearly eaten by a bear.
Wow! Impressive. I saw it came from Canada but is similar to totems from much of the Pacific Northwest. I lived 90 miles south of the Canadian border & many of the tribes in that area had similar totems.
