Autumn Haber Hermany (autummmm) | 4 comments Hello! Mel Haber is my deceased father and I am the legal manager of his books.
I am hoping to have his Author Page updated with a photo and description of him as well as both of his books linked: "Bedtime Stories of the Legendary Ingleside Inn" and "Palm Springs a la Carte". For some reason, only Bedtime Stories shows on his Author Page. I would also like his name updated from Mel to Melvyn.
Any help would mean a lot and truly appreciated!

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7953 comments Someone has moved Palm Springs a la Carte: The Colorful World of the Caviar Crowd at Their Favorite Desert Hideaway to Mel's author page.

You can post the description you'd like to add here, and a librarian can add it to the page for you. If you own the copyright to the photo and give us authorization to use it, we can add that as well. You can add the photo to the "more photos" page of your profile, and we can download it from there.

All his book covers appear to have Mel. Is that correct?

Autumn Haber Hermany (autummmm) | 4 comments Hello! I apologize for the very delayed follow up here but I've gone ahead and added my father's photo to my "More Photos" section and would love for it be added to his Author Page.

Could also please add the following description to his Author Page:

" Melvyn "Mel" Haber, internationally-acclaimed restaurateur and innkeeper/owner of the historic Ingleside Inn and Melvyn's Restaurant was a gracious host to the world's elite and a generous humanitarian and philanthropist.

His wit and talent for storytelling was legendary. In his signature self-deprecating manner, Mel Haber often recounted how he managed to parlay virtually no previous experience in the hospitality industry into an enormously successful business despite himself. He characteristically turned his jokes on himself, which was a large part of his charm that endeared him to countless visitors from around the globe.

The irrepressible restaurateur documented his misadventures and encounters with the rich and famous at his renowned establishment in a 1995 humorous tome called "Bedtime Stories of the Legendary Ingleside Inn." In 2009, he wrote a second book "Palm Springs á la Carte: The Colorful World of the Caviar Crowd at Their Favorite Desert Hideaway," co-written by author Marshall Terrill. "

Could you please add the following description to his book Palm Springs á la Carte:

" Palm Springs á la Carte traces the experiences of Mel Haber, a former automotive accessory manufacturer, as he opened Melvyn's Restaurant and the Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs in 1975. With no restaurant experience, Haber made every mistake in the book-and his business thrived. He spent 40 years catering to the beautiful people who have frequented Palm Springs - from French chefs to lovable con men, Ava Gardner to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Here are just a few of the hundreds of stories in Haber's repertoire. "

Could you also add the line above the a like so: "á" in the title of Palm Springs á la Carte?

Thank you so very much for your help. It means a lot.

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7953 comments I'm honored to be able to help, Autumn. I'm sorry for your loss; he seems to have been a delightful person.

Here is Mel's author page with the information and photo that you supplied.

I made the changes you requested in both the hardcover and Kindle editions of Palm Springs á la Carte. I also added Marshall Terrill as co-author.

Please look over these entries, and let me know if you'd like to make any modifications.

Autumn Haber Hermany (autummmm) | 4 comments Thank you so much for your help! Everything looks wonderful!

I am curious why Palm Springs a la Carte has two separate links for hardcover versus kindle whereas Bedtime Stories shows the kindle version as an "Edition"

Is it possible to have both books set up the same way in regards to hardcover/paperback and kindle versions?

Hope this makes sense!!

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7953 comments Under Goodreads' book format naming standard, only Kindle-edition books have "Edition" tacked onto the brand name. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I cleaned up some minor anomalies with the three Bedtime Stories editions, so the Editions list of the two books is tidier now:

Palm Springs á la Carte — Hardcover and Kindle Edition

Bedtime Stories of the Legendary Ingleside Inn — Hardcover, Paperback, and Kindle Edition

Autumn Haber Hermany (autummmm) | 4 comments Thank you so very much! It's so nicely cleaned up and looks great. There is actually a podcast coming out soon about Bedtime Stories which is why I wanted to ensure all of these things were in order :)
