Srividya Vijapure (theinkedmermaid) A love story, an adventure, and an epic of the frontier, Larry McMurtry’s Pulitzer Prize— winning classic, Lonesome Dove is the grandest novel ever written about the last defiant wilderness of America.

Journey to the dusty little Texas town of Lonesome Dove and meet an unforgettable assortment of heroes and outlaws, whores and ladies, Indians and settlers. Richly authentic, beautifully written, always dramatic, Lonesome Dove is a book to make us laugh, weep, dream, and remember.

From February we begin our new venture into specific genre reads, especially the much loved Historical Fiction genre. Join us as we read the chosen book for this genre. Do post your thoughts and comments below. Do make use of spoiler tags, where required.

Happy reading! :)

Please note: This being a bigger book will have a three month span for discussions. Ideal period is February 1st, 2015 - April 30th, 2015. People can join in as and when they can but some of the readers will start and finish early. However, I am hoping that they will discuss the book later as well, especially with those who start late.

Discussion leader: Akshay and Manju

Psmith is starting. Psmith can't resist when others start, and he is left behind. :P
I am frantically searching for my paperback. If I don't locate it, I will resort to ebook. The paperback was one which I bought at a used book store for Rs. 10. (not joking). So those who bought for Rs. 1000, I pity you. 8)
