Ha! Just took me a while but I got there today. What a ride!
1) I want to make an apple pandowdy (I just had to look that up after all of the baking classes I've been doing).
2) Loved the way it all came full circle. I imagine if one is already familiar with Practical Magic and the Owens family, that the end of the book laid a lot of groundwork for the future as far as the Owens house, etc.
3) Though it took me a while (my own issues), this was actually in some ways a quick and very fun read, when I allowed myself to slow down and just read.

Wasn't it a sweet story? I loved the way love is presented in a very pragmatic way. I mean we love who we love even though everyone around is is saying smh wtf .....and then we learn. Do you see yourself hanging on to this and revisiting it someday?
I will honestly say that having seen the movie interferred with my reading. Still love the movie. Still love the book. I just couldn't separate the two having just watched the movie in the fall or was it winter.....I dunno, all sense of time is a shambles now. hahaha
Thanks for the link of the apple pandowdy! I vaguely recall it from the book.....but thats my kinda baking. No kneading. No rolling.

A lovely love story -- romantic, family, and love of self. I am not sure if I will reread the story (as I am not much of a re-reader) but I would definitely recommend it to friends.
The apple pandowdy was the apple dish at the end that Faith made for John and Ruth was insisting he have a piece. It was a small detail but I enjoy reading about these old-fashioned desserts. I agree, my kind of baking!
