vale.0304 | 1 comments I am a bit late to the challenge but I wanted to join anyways.

I am vale and I enjoy reading fantasy, mystery, YA, romance, gay and lesbian.

I also love recommendations

I want to read 25 books in the remainder of the year.’

This is my first year doing the challenge so I hope I can.

It is really nice to be here and I hope everyone achieves their reading challenges

❡Risa (risamareads) | 1 comments Hi! I'm 27 and from Germany. I joined this website a while ago but only recently started really keeping track of my reading here. I mostly like to read fantasy and romance, but I am trying to read more broadly this year. I don't write a lot on this site but I enjoy looking at what other people are reading and getting inspired by it.
I don't really have a set-in-stone number of books I want to read this year, I just want to read a lot and hopefully find some awesome books while doing that.
Good luck to everyone with their 2021 Reading Challenge!

message 453: by Casarah (new)

Casarah Nance | 1 comments Hi! I just got on Goodreads in June because I was looking for a way to track what books I was reading. I'm on my 40th book since then. I think I will exceed my expectations by far and look forward to starting a new year with a higher goal. I read quite a bit because I am a stay at home mom who homeschools my 10 yr old. We read a lot together and hope that she sees my goals and makes some of her own.

message 454: by Soren (new)

Soren Morgan | 8 comments Hello, I’m Soren (they/them) and I’m a writer who is trying to read more. ADHD and hyperfixating on things makes finishing books a challenge, and I’m hoping that this group will help me finish more books!

I come from the center of the USA. I mostly read fantasy, sci fi, LGBT and detective mysteries, but am willing to dabble in other genres if it sounds interesting enough. Since I’m starting so late in the year, I hope to read four books for the remainder of the year.

message 455: by Victoria (Tori) (new)

Victoria (Tori) Lynch Hi y’all! I’m Tori from Oklahoma. I’m a retired RN, married. I have two sons, both are firefighter/EMT’s for the OKC Fire dept. I have 2 grandchildren and one on the way. My goal for this year has been 100 books. I like suspense, historical fiction, romance not a big non fiction fan. I read to entertain and take my mind off of “stuff”.

message 460: by Nicolina (new)

Nicolina Hi

I’m 27 y/o from Sweden. I read a little bit of everything, but mostly romance. I read most books in English even if it’s my second language. I often switch between audiobook and reading so I can listen while doing other stuff, but I prefer reading.
I set a goal in the behining of the summer to read 100 books in 100 days since I were stuck at home being at risk because of covid and Lupus. I finished it on day 99 and changed my goal to 150 books before this year ends.

I can't remember, but both were important, and triple word wasn't the only emphasis as I recall.

message 472: by Martha☀ (new)

Martha☀ | 243 comments Hello! I'm Martha from Vancouver Island in Canada. I am a school teacher in my 50s. I am on track for 70 books this year. I read a wide range of genres but really enjoy dystopian and I avoid YA. I always have three books on the go at a time - one ebook, one audiobook and one actual book. I also try to have one non-fiction title at all times. When I am not reading, I run long, long distances and take care of my backyard chickens on our acreage that we call 'the queendom'. I found the group simply in the Community tab as I was looking for a more active group than the one I am in. I enjoy getting to know you all!

Lisa (lisamichelle2989) | 4 comments Hi everyone, I’m Lisa!

I’ve been a lover of all things book-related since I was little (my first favorite book was “The Little Engine That Could” 😊) . Nowadays my favorite books tend to mainly fall in the YA category, but I definitely enjoy some of the old school classics here and there.

message 476: by Lusy (new)

Lusy | 3 comments Hello...

My name is Lusy. I love reading and have been 'getting books' since I was little, even before I was able to read. I had an accident once because I was too busy admiring a book I just got and forgot to pay attention while walking on a street. So I got hit by a bike. I was a small kid so a trip to the hospital for some stitches was in order. I called the scar on my eyebrow 'my tiny book scar.' Funny, ... I don't usually share this story. Sorry for 'too much information.'

Anyway, I started using GoodReads some years ago but the database was not good. It was hard to find books to add to my shelves and so on and so forth so I deleted my account. I'm starting again with a new account and glad I did. Things are so much better now! As a new member, I'm trying to figure out my way around this group. It's exciting to join a group with reading challenges. Hopefully I can join one soon.

Thank you for everything you do here!

Happy reading everybody!!

message 488: by Robynne (last edited Nov 17, 2021 07:22PM) (new)

Robynne Lozier | 349 comments Hello, My name is Robynne, and I live in Toronto, Canada. I need a new challenge and while I cannot do 2021, I would like to join in for 2022. My reading tastes are mostly non fiction, although I also do read some historical fiction, adventure/mystery, cozy mysteries, sci-fi and epistolary.

I have been reading E-books only for the last 9 years since my eyes started going bad. I pretty much buy all of my books from Kobo. I am married and a stay at home mom with one teenage son and all 3 of us have chronic illnesses so we dont get out much, and have not been out since the pandemic started, except to get our vaccine jabs.

My goal in 2020 when I first joined GR was 24 books, as in 2 books a month. and I went way over that goal. This year I aimed for 36 books (as in 3 per month) and I have already exceeded that as well. Next year in 2022, I plan for aim for 48 books (4 books per month) and we shall see how that goes.

Rhonda Hi! I’m a 54 year old wife and mother from Houston. I read a wide variety of genres, but tend to avoid horror and thrillers ( love mysteries, but thrillers are too stressful). I love reading challenges and read close to 200 books a year. That has dropped recently as I’ve started grad school to get my master’s of library science, but I still read a lot. I read mostly ebooks and audiobooks. I look forward to participating in this group in 2022!

message 499: by Maja (new)

Maja Hi! I'm Maja and I'm a student from Poland <3

I like to read YA, mysteries, romance novels, etc. Recently I've been exceptionally keen on nonfiction, biographies and memoirs.
I listen to audiobooks a lot, mostly on my way to school. Sometimes I like to pick up a comic or a webcomic, but none of what I've read so far caught my attention for longer :(

I found this group when I was looking for a holiday buddy read. It's kinda late to talk about any goals for 2021, but in the next year I'd like to read one book starting with every letter of the alphabet. Wish me luck! :D

message 500: by Alison Boone (new)

Alison Boone | 1 comments My name is Alison. I am 41 years old and I am embarrassed to say that I was born and raised in the most illiterate state I'm the country and I am still here in Oxford, Mississippi. I love to read any book I can get my hands on. But Suspense is probably the genre I go to before the others. I stumbled across the group on accident, I just got a new phone and I don't know how to use it and I ended up here. I don't haven't decided on a goal yet. I didn't want to set the bat to high and find myself stressing about it. But I supposed myself when I realized I have completed more than 10 books on on less than a month. I'm new to this do any suggestions on what I should be doing would be great
