The killer makes an attempt on Jenny’s life in the hospital, sacrificing another patient in the effort. Did you get any more clues out of this attempt?

At this point I was thinking the killer was either Stan Adams or Brian Leed. I figured no one would look at either of them if they were disguised as a janitor or orderly at the hospital.

I was also still hooked on these two as the possible killer. But it was so diabolical I started to doubt my judgment (rightly so).

I already knew who the killer was at this point, so no. It just cemented his identity because as Sheriff he was familiar with the hospital and its routines. It also emphasized hi complete lack of conscience in my mind.
