Cheryl Olson (girlsmama) | 694 comments We have a lot of mystery readers in our group, so I am excited to bring this one back. Like last year, read just one mystery per month trying to check mark off these categories. Hope you have fun with this one.

Here are your categories-
1 Contemporary mystery
2. A mystery set in a country you would like to visit.
3. A mystery with some type of food on the cover
4. A mystery set at Christmas time
5. A mystery with a senior amateur sleuth
6. A historical fiction mystery
7. A mystery with a detective team
8. A mystery written by your favorite mystery author
9. A mystery with an animal on the cover
10. A mystery with a major plot twist.
11. A mystery where the victim was poisoned
12. A mystery novel released this year.

Don't know if you work off your phone or your computer; but if you work off the computer, I make a list of all the challenges so that I can keep track of them and know what books I use for them.

message 7: by Rachel (new)

Rachel I'm in. I enjoy mysteries but haven't wanted to read a ton of them lately, so I think sticking to a goal of 12 specific ones is not only a fun but a smart one for me.

I have a book with a list of everything and as I fill books, I colour the sections. (I'm an accountant so love notes and stationery)

message 11: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 225 comments Sarita, where do you find stationery pages, section pages to keep your list of books. I also enjoy a three ring binder, and have found a few clip art pages to print off as lists.

I just buy normal notebooks at our local Christian bookstore and page tags and then make my own sections with those. I usually have an order

Annual challenges - like finish the series/50 states with all possibilities and other annual pages.
Then all the 6 months (when there was)
And then the monthly challenges

Barbara Moss | 4 comments Let's have a go:
Looking through my Kindle library I have found everything except the first one. I have not reread them, but to the best of my memory they do not infringe the group guidelines.
1 Contemporary mystery- I thought of Michelle Guinness, Archbishop, which is not in your database. The main character is a woman bishop in the Church of England (which would not have been possible until very recently) who is appointed Archbishop of Canterbury (which has not yet happened). The mystery, which is solved in the course of the book, is how and why she came to be appointed.
2. A mystery set in a country you would like to visit.- Last Rituals (Iceland)
3. A mystery with some type of food on the cover - A Trifle to Die For
4. A mystery set at Christmas time - Crewel Yule
5. A mystery with a senior amateur sleuth - Aunt Bessie Assumes
6. A historical fiction mystery - The Union Quilters (American History)
7. A mystery with a detective team - Payment in Blood
8. A mystery written by your favorite mystery author- Strange Children
9. A mystery with an animal on the cover- Dick Francis's Refusal
10. A mystery with a major plot twist.- The Nine Mile Walk and Other Stories (see the last page of the title story)
11. A mystery where the victim was poisoned - Strong Poison
12. A mystery novel released this year.- The Conway Harbour Killings: A Snowdonia Murder Mystery
