Located on the other side of the lake, the pier is long, extending a good 30 some yards into the lake. It is built out of sturdy wood with a stone base. It seems to be invincible, for many students within the Nativus house have tried to douse it in flames, create a minor earthquake to rip it in two, etc. but it has cause no effects whatsoever to the pier except to give it a strangely smoky scent.

September jolted awake from a sort of daze, losing her balance slightly and nearly plunging into the water. She righted herself and breathed in deeply to calm herself down. The smell lingering in the air reminded her a little bit of the scent of birthday candles after they've been blown out, like the ones Aunt Snow used to put on her cake every year. She looked around, taking in the lake. Somehow, she had ended up about twenty yards in on the pier, and she wondered what would have happened if she hadn't come back to focus.
Scarlett was sitting on the edge of the lake, dipping her feet in, just glad class was over. Why had all the teachers decided to give tests today? Was that necessary? Really? Oh well, at least it was over, although she was pretty sure she'd failed that last one, but what could she say? She was tired. Hearing footsteps behind her she glanced up, seeing the girl farther up the pier, giving her a nod of greeting.
September waved a little, wondering whether the blank spaces in her memory were getting longer or whether she had just misjudged the location of the sun in the sky the last time she was conscious of seeing it. Either way, she found herself walking toward the end of the pier, in the direction of the girl. "Hello," she said as a sort of greeting before lowering herself down to sit beside her, leaving plenty of space between them.
((Sorry thought I posted. GR must not have saved it :/))"Hey." Scarlett said, her shoes were on the pier beside her, her feet in the water. She wanted to do something. What though was the question. And she really needed to relax after the long day she'd had. Maybe she could use her powers. Get in one of the off limit areas. She'd done it before but it'd been awhile. Or go hang out in the woods. Change into an animal and scare some people. That could be fun too.
"I'm September," she told her simply.She didn't really feel the need to say much else; the lake was beautiful and could occupy her eyes for a while, and the mere presence of another person would probably keep her relatively sane. For the time being.
September extended her hand sideways for the other girl to shake. She had just gotten the feel for this new hand a few weeks before, after having to regrow it due to the aftermath of a fight. But her fingers moved like normal, now, and the only sign that it was any different from her other hand was that the skin was completely smooth and untarnished.
"Scarlett." She replied, reaching over and shaking the girl's hand. "I'm sure I've seen you around here before." She took note of the difference in her hand but didn't say anything about it, figuring it was part of her power. "So what year are you?" She asked as she leaned back a bit, resting her weight on her hands as she looked out over the water.
"Yeah," September agreed, glancing over at Scarlett before returning her attention to the rolling water, "You do look vaguely familiar."She thought about the other question for a little while. How long had she been at the academy? "Fifth year," she told her, remembering after a brief examination of her left palm. "I'm fifteen," she added unnecessarily, mainly just so she could hear it out loud and possibly retain the information.
((Sorry!))"Seventeen. House Corporus. Shape shifter." She decided to just say it all at once. Might as well instead of explain a little bit at a time. Then just to demonstrate her power she turned into a copy of September for a few moments before changing back. "What about you?" She had an idea of the other girl's power but wanted to confirm.
((It's all good. :) ))September looked curiously at her own mirror image for the few seconds in which it existed. Did she really look like that, now? Strange... Then she was just looking at Scarlett, again. "That seems like an extremely useful power," she commented, "I can regenerate. Like a lizard, but quicker. Prodigalis, obviously."
((I've been bad about replying outside of one group rp. ))"It is, and fun. Although yours must come in handy in a fight. And Prodiglias? I an see that maybe fitting in with Corporus too but whatever they say I guess." She answered with a shrug as she turned to look over the water again, then without a word jumped in. She went under for a moment before popping her head back up. "Come on in, the water feels great."
((I understand. :) ))September slid into the water silently, barely feeling a difference at all from the air to the water. Most of the sensations she felt were fairly dulled down. She wasn't exactly sure why, but it was easy to assume it had something to do with the fact that barely any parts of her body were the same as it had been five years ago.
She resurfaced and ran a hand through her soaking brown hair. "Yeah," she agreed, referring to Scarlett's statement about her house, "I suppose I could have fit in Corporus. But I think my power kind of confused them."
"I can see that." She shrugged. "So how old were you when you got your power then?" She asked as she floated there in the water, relaxing a bit after the long day. Her thoughts though did wander a bit unwilling back to her life before coming here, although parts of it she barely remembered anymore. HEr parents she didn't care about, but her little brother she wondered if he was okay. He must have been normal since he hadn't shown up here around the time he would have turned 11.
September shrugged. "I've always been able to do it. I can't remember a time when I couldn't."Then again, she couldn't really remember very many things at all, so maybe that didn't mean anything. But she had been able to regenerate since she was born. Or else she probably wouldn't even be alive.
"What about you? Did it have to develop or something?" she continued.
"I've been able to do it for as long as I can remember. Although one time I used my powers to sneak into the office and look at my file. The first documentation of my power was when I was five. Apparently I turned into a cat."
September smiled. "Nice. Isn't that what little kids always dream about? Being cats?" She was half-joking, mainly because she didn't know whether kids actually did that. Maybe they did... Maybe they didn't... Either way she was covered. She'd used a sort of joking tone of voice. In her opinion, anyway.
((Sorry! Message me when I go for this long without replying.))Scarlett smiled a bit. "I guess so. Maybe normal kids anyway. But I like my powers. shapeshifting can be a lot of fun."
((It's okay. :) ))"I bet..." September replied absently.
Her expression became vacant, and her eyes stopped moving, instead growing glassy, like the eyes of the dead. The conscious part of her mind slowed and thoughts came slower and slower. She had nothing else to say.
