Allie I could easily have chosen to read this one for a different week, since Higgins is an author who is recommended to me all the time. I'm looking forward to trying her out.

Synopsis:
Being one of the guys isn't all it's cracked up to be...So when journalist Chastity O'Neill returns to her hometown, she decides it's time to start working on some of those feminine wiles. Two tiny problems: #1--she's five feet eleven inches of rock-solid girl power, and #2--she's cursed with four alpha male older brothers.

While doing a story on local heroes, she meets a hunky doctor and things start to look up. Now there's only one problem: Trevor Meade, her first love and the one man she's never quite gotten over--although he seems to have gotten over her just fine.

Yet the more time she spends with Dr. Perfect, the better Trevor looks. But even with the in-your-face competition, the irresistible Trevor just can't seem to see Chastity as anything more than just one of the guys....

Allie At about 44%:

It's funnier than I thought it would be, and it would be a good "beach read."

Allie Done, and not that impressed. It was laugh-out-loud funny in parts, and Chastity, her family, and her coworkers were all fun characters. It just failed as a romance. When I care more about all the relationships happening around the main characters than I do about them, something's not working. In this case, I think it was Trevor, who was about as interesting as plain pasta on a white plate and treated Chastity poorly.

I would have enjoyed Just One of the Guys about 2 chapters earlier than it did, before the HEA, but then I guess it wouldn't be a romance.
