When Kim goes to the prison to see if Lee Darby, Charlie’s biological father, might be behind the abduction, she uses an unconventional method of deduction. Your thoughts about how she got her answers?

Lynn (ftbooklover) It was very clever. By not singling Darby out, he never became aware that he was the one Kim was there to see. Asking about kids gave her what she needed to know without revealing that Darby had a child. Kim managed to find out what she needed to know but still protected Karen, Robert, and Charlie.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) If nothing else, Kim is a very skilled investigator. She can be subtle when it's called for. As evidenced in this situation.

Robin (robinmy) | 2466 comments Kim was smart to get her answer without letting Darby know that he had a kid.

I thought it clever, too, and was happy she didn’t have to give this manipulative bozo the information for him to later use as leverage. I knew something was up when she didn’t want to single him out as having visitors.
