Bebe20018 | 329 comments Hey Team Monster High! Love the name and the cartoon.
Maybe we can start by introducing ourselves. I am Bernice (Bebe20018) and I am in Washington, DC. I love reading fiction mostly paranormal romance novels but as long as the story keeps me engaged and has some action, I will read it. Also I am a new knitter and I am making my first sweater so hopefully by the time this challenge is over, I will have made the front of it. By the way has anyone ever seen Monster High?

Perks Moderator | 472 comments I've never seen it, but it looks a little creepy/cute ;)

The spreadsheet in message 2 has your Feb hands so you can start planning :)

message 5: by Marta (new)

Marta Campbell | 50 comments Hello! I'm from north Louisiana. I read pretty much anything if it sounds good. I seem to favor the Fantasy, Sci-fi, Historical type of books and not so much romance and espionage. I have never read an autobiography or biography. If I'm not reading I'm needlepointing (go Audible!) or enjoying kids and grandkids.
Thanks Bernice for being our Captain!

Bebe20018 | 329 comments Hi Marta, thanks for checking in. I have no objections to you taking #7. Can you list your book here and if you want to make suggestions for any of the others feel free.

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 72 comments Hi! I'm Anne or on GR as Anne Booklady.

I am retired from SSA and recently moved back to my small Southern Illinois home town. I have several books that I could read for the tasks =)

message 10: by Marta (new)

Marta Campbell | 50 comments Hi Anne! For the Uno card 7 I'm going to read 'Seen' ( The Wanderer Book #1) by Heather Sutherlin. It's been on my TBR list for awhile.

message 13: by Marta (new)

Marta Campbell | 50 comments Hi Kim! I hope you like The Giver. I enjoyed it a lot more than the movie. Which is usually the case.

message 14: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 455 comments Hi everyone! I'm Laila. I live in Chicago. I generally read a lot of New Adult and Young Adult novels. But if something can keep my interest, I'll read it =) Like you Bernice, I knit but I only stick to scarves. Anything else is too complicated!

If no one minds I'd like to do Hand 8. Looking forward to doing this challenge with all of you!

message 15: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 455 comments I'm planning to read 'Echoes of Scotland Street' by Samantha Young. The book title starts with a letter 'E' and also takes place in Edinburgh

message 16: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte | 43 comments HI everyone! I'm Charlotte and I live in Tulsa. I work in a library at a local community college so I am surrounded by books every day. I read about any genre of books. I also love to knit.

I believe it looks like I need to read a book for the "4" card. I have been trying to decide on a book. If I'm wrong on the card, please let me know. Or if you have a suggestion. I've been looking today while I'm at work.

Thanks!

message 17: by Bebe20018 (last edited Jan 27, 2015 08:04AM) (new)

Bebe20018 | 329 comments Charlotte you can take 4 if you want to, however, a Reverse is still available. We still have one person who has not checked in.

I would like to ask if we could all make a shelf in our reading list for the Uno Challenge so that we will be able to see what each of us will read/has read during the challenge and I will place the link for each at the top under message three.

I don't know if any of you have seen Monster High, but I think they are just so cute. Just for fun check out the Original Ghouls characters and see which one you like/identify with. I like Cleo de Nile. What about you?
http://www.monsterhigh.com/en-us/char...

I will take the Wild Draw 4 and have started reading Captured.

Perks Moderator | 472 comments Marta wrote: "Don't we have to use all the cards in a hand to get points?"

Basically, you can start completing them in different orders, but only completed hands in order will count for points at the end of the month.

For example, you may start filling hands 1,2,3,4 and 5 concurrently, and at the end of the month you have completed hands 1,2,3,4 and most of 5. Then all of your cards count for points. However, if you only complete hands 1,2,3 and part of 4 and all of 5 by the end of the month, then you can only get points for hands 1,2,3 and your part of hand 4 (and none of 5). Hope that makes sense :)
