Emma | 757 comments There's nine of us in this group but only 7 cards in the hand so whoever doesn't read in this hand will get first pick next hand.

What is the best way to choose these? First come first served?

Suppose we should wait until everyone has commented. :)

message 12: by Pepperpots (new)

Pepperpots I have chosen the following for hand 1:

One by One (Robert Hunter, #5) by Chris Carter
La Liste de mes envies by Grégoire Delacourt
This Charming Man by Marian Keyes

Life Support by Tess Gerritsen
Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella
Bossypants by Tina Fey

message 13: by Emma (last edited Jan 25, 2015 02:38PM) (new)

Emma | 757 comments Pepperpots, which card did you choose? You only need one book, or is that what you are going to choose from?

message 14: by Pepperpots (new)

Pepperpots ahem...I thought you had to read a whole hand. *blush* So I only need to read 1 book and not all for one hand?

message 15: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments No, we read the whole hand as a team. But one each. There are more hands that we can do in the month but we need to finish this one first.

There is upto 108cards/books we can read in a month, we get 7 at a time and read them between us before me move on.

Sorry if that wasn't clear. if you look at comment two in this you can see the hands we will be doing. I have a version that I can edit and will update it when we read them.

Can I also ask for the reason the book is being selected i.e. For option one - the author's name starts with O or is set in Oslo, etc, just in case it isn't apparent.

message 16: by Pepperpots (new)

Pepperpots My mistake. Thanks for clearing it up :)

When will it be decided who is reading whaT FOR fEB?

message 17: by Liezel (new)

Liezel (liezkl) | 47 comments First come, first served will probably be the easiest way to do this.

message 18: by Coco (new)

Coco (cocozhang) Hi everyone! Good luck to all :)

message 19: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments Ye I agree that first come first served is probably best.
A few people still have to check in anyway.

message 20: by Poongothai (last edited Jan 27, 2015 01:21AM) (new)

Poongothai (poongsa) | 559 comments I can read Twice Tempted by a Rogue by Tessa Dare

- has an author first name or surname starts with T

I can be used for either 2(Two) or 3(Three)

message 23: by Poongothai (new)

Poongothai (poongsa) | 559 comments I can also read Festive in Death
for 4 - has a title starting with F, if someone else wants to take up 2

message 24: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments It should be fine, there'll be plenty of chances for you to read that later in the challenge. I have one sitting on my shelf that would work as well :)

message 25: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Hi! I'm a bit confused,hahaa sorry!
So, who is going to do what in each hand? Like how are we doing to decide :) sorry! Should I make a UNO challenge shelf?

message 26: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Ah alright I see its first come first serve! Mhch a okay I better start deciding x

message 27: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments I'll read Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi for hand one: book 1 in a series!

Do we have to decide what book we want to read for each hand? Or are we only planning Hand One at the moment? :)

message 28: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments We are only planning hand one just now, but once that is decided we will start planning hand two ready for us. I think it will get far too complicated of we try and plan them all, But if we can get this planned by today or tomorrow we should have hand two planned before we start reading hand one on the first of feb.

message 29: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Okay Emma, thank you so much! :)

message 30: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments It's okay :)

message 31: by Coco (new)

Coco (cocozhang) Can I read The Da Vinci Code for 3? The title starts with 'T'. :)

message 32: by Pepperpots (new)

Pepperpots I'll read Life Support for wild, if that's OK?

message 33: by Jeanine (new)

Jeanine | 24 comments Hello!
Is it okay that I'll just read the book I'm currently reading, Scorpion Mountain, for "wild draw four" ?

message 34: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments Hi, Coco and Pepperpots I have put them in for you. Jeanine hope it's okay I have put you for 4 instead of wild draw 4. The authors last name is Flannagan so it fits. Just to give more freedom to the last person. Hope that's okay.

The last person can read any book. If no-one else responds by the 30th of this month I will choose one and read it myself.

Otherwise myself and the one other person who did not get to read in this round get first pick next hand.

Does that all sound okay?

message 35: by Liezel (new)

Liezel (liezkl) | 47 comments Sounds good

message 36: by Kewal (new)

Kewal | 7 comments hey everyone

message 37: by Kewal (new)

Kewal | 7 comments I'll be reading catcher in the rye
as I can read anything
hope that's cool ?

message 38: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Hi!

I'll read Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi for Hand One {first book in a series} and also for Hand Two{authors first name starts with a T}

For Hand Four I can read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell {title starting with an F}

And Hand Three: Slated by Teri Terry {authors first name and and surname starting with a T}

if thats okay?

message 39: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments Katie we are only sorting out hand one just now. It is complete.

message 40: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Okay sorry Emma! So I'll be reading shatter me then x

message 41: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments @Everyone, Hand one is complete. You need to finish the book after the 1st of Feb for it to count towards this challenge. You also need to tell me when it's finished so I can fill in the form. If you change your mind on a book that's fine as long as it still fits the category you chose and you tell me after which book you read.

We will start deciding what to read for hand two now. Remember we cannot read any book for hand 2 until everyone has finished reading their book for hand 1.

Myself and Rua get first pick since we did not read one for hand one.

message 42: by Emma (last edited Feb 01, 2015 08:20AM) (new)

Emma | 757 comments Hand 2
9- Rumours by Freya North tbr by Pepperpots
5- Finale (Hush, Hush, #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick tbr by coco
7- Dead Jealous (Poppy Sinclair, #1) by Sharon Jones tbr by Emma
3- The DUFF Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger tbr by Katie
6- The Rosie Effect (Don Tillman #2) by Graeme Simsion tbr by Nanci
8- Eona The Last Dragoneye (Eon, #2) by Alison Goodman tbr by Liezel
3- The Distance Between Us by Kasie West tbr by Jeanine

message 43: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments Yes Katie, we are sorting out Hand two now, so it's possible you'll get another one in this hand, but two people won't get to read for each hand.

Just waiting for the other person who did not get to read a book in hand one to comment then I will let everyone else have free reign at it.

message 44: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments For Hand Two can I read The DUFF by Kody Keplinger? It's a title starting with T :)

message 45: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Okay sorry ignore my above comment then x

message 46: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments It's okay, once they comment I will put that one in for you :)

message 47: by Katie (new)

Katie (eruditereader) | 47 comments Thank you! :)

message 48: by Pepperpots (new)

Pepperpots I can read Frey North "Rumours" for hand 2 (for 9). If the person still to comment chooses a book that fits #9 I can easily choose for one of the others.

message 49: by Emma (new)

Emma | 757 comments Okay, thanks Pepperpots, they have until the thirtieth to comment, if they haven't by then everyone can say what they want to read for hand two.

message 50: by Jeanine (new)

Jeanine | 24 comments That's okay Emma! I don't think I could also manage reading a book for hand 2 so you can sort that hand out without me! :)
