6 -- A Character With The Same Name As A Male Family Member
It would be lovely (and helpful) if you would include the character names that you plan to use from each book. : )
12 children featured in this nonfiction book. Hidden Valley Road: Inside the Mind of an American Family
The Thin Man Nick and Nora Charles - family name Nick. The great thing is that this is a couple parodied in the great movie "Murder by Death." The characters are based on famous detectives and their partners or side kicks - Nick and Nora, Sam Spade, Miss Marple, Charlie Chan, Hercule Poirot.
Would love suggestions if anyone knows a book with Hugh? Lots of authors with that name but finding characters difficult

Absolutely! I just searched "Book characters named William" in Google. After you look up enough names the same sites start popping up. I'll add them to the top of the page as well.

Outstanding -- thank you!
I think I might read Shakespeare's Witch by Samantha Grosser (John) or The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon (Christopher).
Completion Post:Just finished reading: "I Am David" by Anne Holm and translated by L.W. Kingsland (★★★★☆), it tells the story of David, a young boy who, with the help of a prison guard, escapes from a concentration camp in an unnamed Eastern European country and journeys to Denmark.
Holmes has written a breathtaking adventure packed full of emotional wallop and an unusual depth of compassionate understanding. It has all the elements of the ideal middle grade's book: a riveting plot, a powerfully sympathetic main character, and an intriguing point of view, but it goes far beyond the typical, with layers of intellectual and emotional depth that keep any reader coming back to it again and again.
I read Landon, Superhero of the Worlds. I had a hard time finding a book for this prompt and stumbled on this. After reading it (only 79 pages including illustrations, it was written and illustrated by a 5th grader. Good for him!
Ribsy by Beverly Cleary. It had a character named George, which is my paternal grandfather's name. Would also work for Henry, Danny, Bill, Pete, Philip, Billy, Joe, Larry or Bert.
I thought that this would be a hard one for me and that I'd have to search til I found one that fit, but much to my surprise it all just worked out. I read Lucky Dog by Julia London, I picked this for the March mini-related to the word Lucky, but about 30 pages from the end my son's name appeared and I had to go with it, my son's name is Fabein, ( the book spelled it in it's traditional spelling, Fabian) I mean how often does that one show up in a book?
I read Everything Inside by Edwidge Danticat, 3 Stars. It's a book of short stories so many names are featured, I just lucked out that one was Paul.
I have read Legend Trilogy Boxed Set One of the main characters is called Day. My husband's name is David but I have always and still do (25 years on) call him Day!
