This book will have a character that shares the same name as a son, husband, half-brother, step-nephew, father, grandfather, your great-great-great-uncle, dog, … etc. It could be any male relative — and they don’t have to be alive to qualify, so dig through your family tree if you need to!

Ranker.com (click the Search icon on the top right, then search "Fictional Characters Named...")
Behind The Name (search a name then click the Namesakes tab upper right)
Wikipedia (most names will have a "fictional characters" list at the bottom)
Britannica.com (search "Fictional Characters Named...")
Lists (search "Fictional Characters Named...")
Fictional Characters Wiki (search bar top right)
WorldCat Fiction Finder (search name)

Also, your pick does not have to be Fiction. You are always welcome to read a Non-Fiction book about a celebrity, athlete, politician, scientist, Nobel Prize Winner, artist, saint, writer, royalty, business person etc that shares your chosen name!

Absolutely! I just searched "Book characters named William" in Google. After you look up enough names the same sites start popping up. I'll add them to the top of the page as well.

message 40: by Ben (new)

Ben Truong | 60 comments Completion Post:

Just finished reading: "I Am David" by Anne Holm and translated by L.W. Kingsland (★★★★☆), it tells the story of David, a young boy who, with the help of a prison guard, escapes from a concentration camp in an unnamed Eastern European country and journeys to Denmark.

Holmes has written a breathtaking adventure packed full of emotional wallop and an unusual depth of compassionate understanding. It has all the elements of the ideal middle grade's book: a riveting plot, a powerfully sympathetic main character, and an intriguing point of view, but it goes far beyond the typical, with layers of intellectual and emotional depth that keep any reader coming back to it again and again.

Desiree Disedare (dezi_aglaee) | 16 comments I thought that this would be a hard one for me and that I'd have to search til I found one that fit, but much to my surprise it all just worked out. I read Lucky Dog by Julia London, I picked this for the March mini-related to the word Lucky, but about 30 pages from the end my son's name appeared and I had to go with it, my son's name is Fabein, ( the book spelled it in it's traditional spelling, Fabian) I mean how often does that one show up in a book?
