So ambitious Matt! Good luck with your challenges.
Matt, I see you have a book of the Shannara Chronicles on your list. I would like to read one of them but have never figured where to start. Can you please suggest which one I should begin with?
Thank you, Matt! I'll try the first one in 2021. I never got around to LOTR but plan to try it too next year. Your lists looks really interesting. Good luck with your challenge.
The fantasy challenge sounds fun!I hope, Game of Thrones can win you over. It's my favorite series ever. I think when re-reading a bad book, one finds plot holes and plot holes. When re-reading good books the reader gets rewarded. The Song of Ice and Fire is a series which can be easily read multiple times. For years, I've been listening to podcasts, etc. and I still love it.
Why did you struggle with the story? I definitely don't want to judge, I'm just curious.
It‘s totally fine, Matt! Why do you feel like you need to apologize for your tactfully stated opinion? If you have come across some idiot intolerant GoT fans, I‘m sorry...While it’s my favorite fantasy series I do agree with your opinion about Martin‘s work ethics. My boyfriend and me even got a wager running. He states that GRRM will die before the next main series book. I am of the opinion that he‘ll manage number six of seven before dying.
Matt, I read Game of Thrones several years ago. While I enjoyed it, I never felt the need to follow up on the sequels. I for one appreciate well stated opinions, even when I disagree.
