Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Hello.

I'm back in school so I don't know how much time I will have to devote to earning maximum points. But I'll do my best. I might have to steal book ideas from other players.

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments Hi guys! Sorry for checking in a bit late, the email telling me I have a message at GR went to my spam :/

Points:<br />2 categories

We mods have discussed it and decided you may choose two (2) categories from which to accumulate points.

Still, within each category you will only get one match. So, if you have two names that match two in the the "name" category, you would only get five (5) points, not ten (10).

EXAMPLE ONLY. Player Review & Points

♬ Week 1 Song: "The Safety Dance" - Men Without Hats (1982)
A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby
Book: A Long Way Down, by Nick Hornby
Rating: ★★★★★
Finished: Jan. 27, 2015
Review: This was an unexpected surprise. The cover doesn't do the book any favours but once I started reading, the characters hooked me right in. I'm not usually a fan of the suicide attempts, but this book broke the mold and pulled at the heartstrings. Love the bonding of the characters.
*Link: SHELF - Humorous
*Names: Ivan & Colin

Individual points for this player:
[shelf (1) + names (5)] = 6

Posting Questions

We don't want to miss your questions, and we don't want other Teams to miss our answers. Therefore, please post your questions to the Mods in the R3: ♬ 1, 2, 3 Step or HOW TO PLAY thread. Thank you!

P.S. You may certainly continue to post your questions to your Captains in your Team threads.

Sure.

message 16: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I guess I need to reread the rules. I didn't play the last round. Looks like some things have changed.

I'll read them tomorrow. I'm too tired now.

message 17: by Phoenix (Online Elf), Moderator (new)

Phoenix (Online Elf) | 4358 comments We're making things easier for Round III, Mary: HD♥L. Just two categories for points.

Sleep tight!

message 18: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments That's actually a relief because I don't have as much time as before. I can't spend hours on end finding a book that hits the most categories.

message 19: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I feel like I should start looking for books but at the same time, I don't want to wast the time because I don't know which song will be called.

Maybe I'll just scroll through the shelves and see if anything from my TBR jumps out at me.

message 20: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Wow this team is quiet.

message 21: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I'm hoping the song will get posted early enough in the day today for me to start something. I work M-F and I'm going back to school. Sat & Sunday are my biggest reading time days.

It'll be posted in a few hours, Mary :)

message 23: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 728 comments so...I'll have to check the rules again...but what exactly do we need to do?

message 24: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

message 25: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 728 comments will check my books and be back :)

message 26: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Yay! Thanks for posting it early in the day.

message 27: by Mary C (last edited Jan 25, 2015 08:40AM) (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments My first thinking was this but it's only worth 3 pts:

Archangel's Shadows (Guild Hunter, #7) by Nalini Singh

message 28: by Mary C (last edited Jan 25, 2015 08:45AM) (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I can download this on audio from my library, it's worth 10: Angels Fall by Nora Roberts .

Which works better for me anyway because I'd have to pay for Archangel's Shadows. I'm still too far down the wait list at the library to get it in time.

message 29: by Kate (new)

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments I can also download the Nora Roberts one from my library SO I will do that one too unless someone comes up with something worth more points :)

message 30: by Mary C (last edited Jan 25, 2015 10:24AM) (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I am having technical difficulties with Angels Fall. It's a WMA audiobook and it says it's putting in my IPOP but I cannot find it anywhere. It's not under author, title, album, audiobook, podcast, playlist or anything. But overdrive keeps telling me it's on my IPOD.

There's a wait list for the ebook version and my local library is closed on Sundays.

message 31: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I managed to find some black rewritable discs and I'm downloading it now so I can load them onto Itunes.

message 32: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20797 comments Mary: HD♥S, are you using Windows PC or a Mac? I would open up your ODA app and upload it to that, then transfer it to your iPod.

message 33: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I am transferring it through the Overdrive app. I transferred it and when it didn't show up, I went to transfer it again and it said it was already on the device. But it's nowhere to be found.

It's OK. I happen to have some rewritable CDs and I got out the old laptop. So I have one laptop burning the CDs and one loading them onto Itunes.

message 34: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20797 comments Well, as long as you get it to your iPod. ☺

message 35: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20797 comments I enjoyed that one so much, Mary: HD♥S, that I'm downloading it to listen to it again; it has been almost four years since I last heard it.

message 36: by Dancing Queen, Special Projects: Team Challenges (new)

Dancing Queen RLftCI | 678 comments If you ladies decide on a name, let us know and we'll change your thread title.

message 37: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I'm partial to Limes in the Coconut

message 38: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I'm having dejavu while I read this. So I'm wondering if I read this a few years ago and forgot to mark it read of if I just read a very similar book before.

message 39: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20797 comments Hmmmm... could be either.

message 40: by Kme_17 (last edited Jan 25, 2015 08:02PM) (new)

Kme_17 | 35 comments mine is only 3 points too. its Mischief in Mudbug (Ghost-in-Law, #2) by Jana Deleon it has a ghost in it but will keep searching to see if anything else comes to light.

message 41: by Kate (new)

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments Limes in the Coconut could also work for me.

I am pretty far through the Nora Roberts book already. It's a very easy read. With luck I will finish by tomorrow night.

message 42: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments I got a late start on my book because of all the time it took to burn the CDS and then load them onto Itunes. But I got about an hour in last night before bed and then another 90min in this morning while getting ready for work. I don't think I'll finish it tonight. I'm going to stop at the library on my lunch break and pick up a print copy.

I really think I've read this book before.

message 43: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments So I have already been given tomorrow off because of this big winter storm aimed right as us. They are predicting power outages. If I go AWOL, that's why.

Which reminds me that I better get some cash so I can pay someone to plow me out.

message 44: by Gisela, Moderator (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments At least you'll have reading time, that's a plus! :) Be safe!

message 45: by Mary C (last edited Jan 26, 2015 03:36PM) (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Now that I'm further into the book, I don't think I've read this one before after all. Just more than a few with the theme "the girl on the run goes to small town to hide from whatever trouble is following her and gets work in a diner with a gruff but lovable owner."

message 46: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20797 comments LOL! Well, there was a movie made of that book, too, Mary: HD♥S. Maybe you saw that?

message 47: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments So no word from Catherine as to what she's reading?

message 48: by Mary C (new)

Mary C (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments No I don't think so. I don't usually watch the Lifetime type movies. (I did know there was a movie of it).

Forgot to mention that I picked up the print copy from the library after work. So I don't have to deal with burning more copies of the audiobook.

message 49: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 728 comments still trwaling through my books!

message 50: by Kate (new)

Kate (tulosai) | 49 comments I'm not going to finish tonight but definitely will tomorrow. It is losing steam for me and I think I have to put it down for a bit :/
