Trea...I'm up to Chapter 11. Things picked up somewhere along the line. Gerry is a real azzhat. It's awful what Michael went through, but I'm a bit confused about Gerry and Kylie. I'm not sure if he hurt her or if it was someone else. I really like Vi. She's a pretty neat sister!

Review: This was a sweet little contemporary about two tortured souls who slowly learn to trust. Together they find happiness and heal the wounds of the past, but not without a few bumps along the way. The story started off very slow at first, but at some point I got attached to the characters. I was glad I stuck with it. Michael's interaction with the twins was endearing and I love how he looked out for Kylie. Vi was a fascinating character, too. It was a fast read with a HEA.

Unfortunately, I didn't see this until I sat down to write my review for it, LOL! I didn't care for it and had to force my way through it. I won't be continuing with the series.

Review: Not recommended. This was a "romantic suspense" that didn't quite measure up to either. Dialog was "off", and plot was unrealistic. Magically it seemed to come together at the end, but it just didn't work for me.

Review: I was so intrigued by the cover blurb on this, but ultimately, I wound up hating it. The pacing of the story really dragged for me, details about character's pasts to make them who they were were given out in a very stingy manner, and eventually I got to the point where I just didn't care about the characters or their motivations for their actions. I was just reading the book because it was the only thing I could find for a team challenge, making it a "have-to" read, rather than an enjoyable one. I even wound up reading other books in the middle of this one! I'm glad I got this one for free, as I will be deleting it off my Kindle and not continuing with the series.

Hey Teamies! What a crazy afternoon! My appointment was scheduled with the wrong doctor, so it was either sit there 2 hours for a work in or come back. Since I've had this scheduled for FOUR MONTHS, I waited...and waited... Anywho...I'm back to the computer. Thanks, Chris, for verifying books and watching the thread while I was gone! Everyone is doing a great job! Love this team!

Review: This was another fun historical romance from Sarah MacLean. I was excited to see Nick get his own book, but surprisingly, I didn't connect as much with him in this book as in Nine Rules. He seemed very different, though I can't quite put my finger on why. He was so gracious to Callie in the last book, but here he felt way too arrogant and kind of smarmy.
Isabel was great, and I liked her unique hang up - a houseful of women she is protecting and caring for. I thought her relationship with Nick progressed nicely (though do we have to keep "compromising" our heroines?). The only disappointment was that the magazine bit on how to land a lord didn't have the same plot impact as Callie's nine rules, so it felt like the theme was a hit of a stretch. I wish she could have woven that in a little tighter.

Becky wants us to go in and throw out the song we want to see, and I guess we'll vote on the three final choices.
We get to pick three songs for next week. I'm not picking, so if each team member picks a song we have our three. The second place team is picking two songs, the third place team one song. Together that makes up all six songs for the next week. There are some fun songs on the list! Let's hope we get a good one for next week!
If you look at the Spreadsheet, waaayyy down the page, you'll find "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. That song and the 4 others after it with no shelves are the songs I picked. Even if the mods had had more time to add shelves in, they might have had a hard time with mine!

Morning, Teamies!The book selections were a little tougher this week so if you have any trouble finding a book just give a shout!
As for our Jukebox selection, this week we only get to pick one song for the list. If everyone will post a selection, I'll use a randomized to choose between the final four. Make sense? We have until Wednesday evening to pm the mods, so no huge rush.
It's still a close challenge with only a few points separating the teams. We are doing great in 2nd place, only one point behind first! Congrats to Simply Red!
