"We mods have discussed it and decided you may choose two (2) categories from which to accumulate points.
Oh, that's a great decision! Otherwise we would've just searched for books to match the Date/Setting for high points. I'm so glad we can use 2 categories now! THANKS!
Okay, Teamies! We have our first week's song! I'm going to set this up as a tracking post until we can get a spreadsheet started. I just need a chance to get the flow of play first. WEEK 1:

Great work, Teamies! Ya'll are really on the ball! I've worked up an Excel spreadsheet to track our progress and points. Google Docs refuses to work with my old Mac so I need to wait until my new computer arrives Tuesday or Wednesday to upload it. I'll post a link as soon as it's up and running!
This week's song is the one I was dreading...and I'm really loathing that right now, as I have to re-do my entire rest of the month just to get a decent point book, so I don't let the team down with a two point book.Trea's Selection Post:

I entered an annual tournament this month to see how many of the books I read are for challenges. Um...I'm pretty sure all of them are...time will tell. LOL! What would we do without Goodreads and these fantastic groups!?
I'm with you two! I don't know when I started reading books because their covers matched something I needed for a challenge :-) I have read some good books though that I never would have read otherwise.
Oh, absolutely! I've run across quite a few gems. Many of them were freebies. It certainly is a good way to get exposed to new writers and genres. Hi. I'm Becky and I'm a GR's challenge addict.
Oops - sorry! I didn't realize.Revised:
Finished: Accidental Mistress Accidental Mistress by Cathy Williams
Date complete: 01/25
Pages: 186
Review: This was a sweet contemporary romance (c. 1997). The title didn't really capture the story line. The MC never became a "mistress" but instead became pregnant after a one-time fling. I liked the HEA ending.

Yay, Chris! Great job! I'll be able to finish Angels Way by tomorrow. ShoSho...so the bonus points are allotted as a team, not to each individual, right? I want to keep my spreadsheet straight!
Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ wrote: "ShoSho...so the bonus points are allotted as a team, not to each individual, right? I want to keep my spreadsheet straight!"Correct.
Lisa Kay wrote: "Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ wrote: "ShoSho...so the bonus points are allotted as a team, not to each individual, right? I want to keep my spreadsheet straight!"Correct."
Thank you, LK! I'll post a link to our spreadsheet with scores and totals as soon as I can upload. It'll be Tuesday or so (not difficult, just technical difficulties). Chris and I will keep the tracking post updated (Post 56) until then. Is there anything else the captains need to keep track of for the mods?
Just make sure the books are 'tagged' as "read" on the members bookshelves and that the books are 150 pages or greater. And, of course, the point total is correct.
Logan's Review Post: Week #1 Song: ♬"Angels" - Robbie Williams (1997)
Book: Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh
Finished: 1/25/15
Rating: 5 stars
Review: What a cool book! Nalini Singh always manages to make the paranormal scene feel fresh. Here, vampires are Made by angels in exchange for 100 years of servitude. Elena hunts rogue vamps that try to skirt their contracts. When the archangel Raphael hires her for a special mission, things get tricky.
I loved Elena but I wish we'd gotten her full backstory. She has a very traumatizing past that's repeatedly hinted at but never fully explained. Hopefully that comes in later books. Raphael is frustrating but endearing, but Dmitri was more creepy than intriguing. I truly enjoined the world building and plot, especially since the events of this book have set up an ongoing conflict. I'm excited to read on in this series!

Congrats on finishing your book! I loved it too! Although I think a slow burn between Elena and Raphael would've been better, things between them seemed rushed to me. I need to move the next one up my tbr.
Awesome, Logan!***Becky*** I verified "Read" shelf, Pages, "Angel", and Cityscape on video and bookcover.
Gisela, I totally agree! I thought that was where things were headed, but I also see how it worked to move along the story. But I would have preferred the slow burn, for sure.
Chris wrote: "***Becky*** I verified "Read" shelf, Pages, "Angel", and Cityscape on video and bookcover."Thanks so much, Chris!
Morning Teamies!Great work yesterday! I'm going to update our post & spreadsheet, then tuck into my book so it'll be finished by tonight. Have a great afternoon!
Good gravy this book is boring! Maybe it's just a slow build, but if something doesn't start happening soon I'm going to start a drinking game. I'll have a fast buzz if I drink everytime Joanie "pops a window open" to smoke! I love Nora Roberts, so maybe it'll get better. I'm halfway through. I can do it, I can do it, I can....
Trea's Review Post:
Week #1 Song: ♬"Angels" - Robbie Williams (1997)
Book:
Angels & Demons by Dan BrownRating: 5 stars
Review: This is my second time for reading this book, though it is my first time reading this particular edition. It was a very interesting story! It is action packed and thought-provoking! Robert Langdon is an unlikely hero, not unlike Indiana Jones, but he is much more cerebral than Jones. Like Jones however, Langdon does have a girl du jour that helps him in his adventures. This book's heroine is Vittoria, a lady mourning her father, but not without gumption and brains of her own. The plot is intricate and educational at the same time. This book centers around the Illuminati and their plot to destroy the Vatican once and for all. The author manages to create vibrant and realistic characters against the backdrop of historically and spiritually significant locales. The illustrated edition reinforces this backdrop by showing pictures and maps that help to bring the story alive for the reader. I will definitely continue the series, only I think I'll be reading the illustrated editions to do it!

I didn't know they made illustrated editions! That is so cool. I think the visuals would be so helpful.

Logan (~Daeris the Shadow Elf Queen~) wrote: "I didn't know they made illustrated editions! That is so cool. The Illustrated Editions come out a couple of years after the release of the hardcover book, but usually they are well worth the wait! I have illustrated editions of all the books but Inferno, which just came out late last year. Probably will pick that up this weekend!
Logan (~Daeris the Shadow Elf Queen~) wrote: "I'm going to look to see if my library has them!"I hope they do! They are totally worth checking out!
Interesting. I didn't know they did that, either. I would think it would be very helpful.BTW, thanks, Trea, for the update.

WOOOHOO! With Trea's review we have three out of four done! That means everyone is waiting on me to finish. Yikes! At least the book is getting better. I'm down to my last five chapters!

Chris, it should be noted that I did not read the paperback version of
Angels & Demons. The edition that I've linked in this comment is the correct edition that I read, which changes the page count from 713 from the edition you linked to 528 for the correct edition, going by the page counts listed on GR. However, the story really ended on page 498 in that edition, the rest is indexes and source notes for the pictures in the illustrated edition. I thought you should be aware of it, just in case the mods need the information. It was a pretty long one, but once the story really got rolling, I didn't want to put it down!
