Ann | 14 comments I recently read and enjoyed "Wild". It is multi-faceted. Strange family story followed by the Pacific Trail treck.
I enjoyed the book.

Chad Patterson | 9 comments I finished "Wild" a couple of days ago. Early in the book, I actively disliked Cheryl. I thought she was a whiny dirtbag with poor coping skills. As I read on, I found myself liking her more and more and liking the book more and more. The end even made me cry, just a tear or two.

Trish | 4 comments I felt the same way about Strayed, but never did get to the point of liking her. I had hope for more of an epiphany by her as the trek on the trail came to a close. I felt once again the book got more press and hype than it deserved.

Chad Patterson | 9 comments In all fairness, I got weepy over hearing about Doug's death, not so much anything that transpired with Cheryl. I still get the sense that she has grown up quite a bit. I just don't know if she did so because of the hike; or if most of us just have a tendency to grow with the passage of time.
