I made a smidgeon of progress. Having only a few books left, I can't believe how little progress I'm making. NOVEMBER 2020 READING CHALLENGE CLEAN UP

Awesome, Sam!! Progress is progress. And if it helps to know this - I have probably 10 to 15 challenges that need something like 1, 2 or 3 books in order to be completed. Some of those challenges have been that way for several years. But...do I take the time to track down those books and get them read? No, I don't. I'm absolutely awful at doing that. And here's the other thing - if I do add them to a reading list, all of a sudden I have no interest in reading them. That's why I don't plan them out. It jinxes them. Lol
I know that feeling, jingles. In another group, they have a quarterly read-a-thon. For that read-a-thon, I assembly all the challenges I have that need 5 books or less to finish, and I try to make progress on them. Last quarter, I managed to finish 18 challenges that way. I've been working on a rotation where I read a book for this challenge, a book for a current challenge, a book for the quarterly challenge and then a book I want to read, in order to cycle through and make some progress. But then I overloaded myself with team challenges and the cycle has gone out the window. I'm currently reading 7-9 books a week for team challenges and it's taking up all my time. Luckily, most of the team challenges will be over by the end of the month. I'll have to be more cognizant of how many active team challenges I have before signing up for new ones so this doesn't happen again.
Hey, that's a great idea, Sam!! I never even thought of doing something like that. I might "borrow" your idea if I may to see if that will help me make some progress.
I hear you on the team challenges! I had to quit doing those completely because it just overwhelmed me and I got almost nothing done beyond those specific team challenges. Everything else went by the wayside. I couldn't seem to juggle the team challenges and my regular ones.
I could never get through 7-9 books a week. That's some pretty awesome reading!!!

Go for it, jingles. It actually really helps progress. And throwing in the one that I just want to read helps prevent burn out from challenges. Every now and then I was getting frustrated that I had found this great series when I read #1 for a challenge, but then couldn't read #2 because it didn't work for a challenge. By the time I finished the challenge, I had forgotten what series was so good. So the poor #2 just sat on my TBR waiting to be found again. I like certain kinds of team challenges. I just need to remember to stick to one book a week team challenges. This time around, two of the challenges I signed up for required 2 books a week. In addition to my long standing one book a week team challenges, it became a bit overwhelming because as soon as I finished one, it was time to start the next. Luckily, I'm fairly good at making the team challenge book work for other challenges as well, so I still made progress but haven't gotten to read any just for fun books recently.
Very happy with finishing 8 out of 12 possibilities this month!NOVEMBER 2020 CHALLENGE CLEAN UP
