I keep looking for clues that tell us the year. I would love to get the "set in 1990's" tasks over with.

I am putting it in Museum 4 ... read a book set in New York City. It is way down on my list.. at badge 4. But I have to read the books that I want. or what's the point lol

You are so organized. I have no plan. I will really look for a book when have 1 book left to finish a museum.

I placed it in NYC as well, but it is easier to find a book set in NYC than one in the 1990 so I am hoping.

@Esther I am not sure it would be anything that would interest you, but I have The Carnival at Bray plugged into the 1990's slot atm. It is a good thing that I don't have to write anything in stone because I change my mind a lot.

Chapter 7- I think I will call it for tonight after this chapter, but I am already enjoying this book more than I did Relic. Although. I am glad I did read it because I already know the players.

Then there was a mention of children... Well, it can't actually be the beast.. How would he manage to have children? Definently more questions in that chapter than answers. I only just started this today. I have to say that the opening scene was pretty descriptive and gross. Which makes me concerned about your ch 6 spoiler starting with eww. lol

I can't imagine how they feel in that room looking at a corpse and thinking that creature could be alive and out there somewhere. It would be their worst nightmare. (hide spoiler)]

Blacksmith certainly loves his job and has a lot of ambition to go down there. Plus, a little stupidity maybe too... I mean seriously, where are your self preservation skills?

Also, I forgot this book was old. When it got dark my first thought was just pull out your cell phone! Everyone uses their cell as a flashlight at some point. Then I remembered it was written in the 90s. No cell phones. 🤦🏼‍♀️ (hide spoiler)]

chapter 11 (view spoiler)[ It seems the bodies are stacking up and the killer is getting more bold. It started with the people hidden underground, then they killed a couple of above ground people, but hid the bodies. Now, they killed a guy and just left his body out in the open in the bathroom. What's next? People should start being extra careful. I wonder if they'll panic when this hits the news. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I have been known to say "the crazy thing who do for your job". here this is an understatement. They managed to get a little more. Pendergast has a lot of homework to do as I am sure Mephisto will look into his "group". While Pendergast and Agosta passed all his tests, he still seemed suspicious. (hide spoiler)]
