read the book this year and just cannot remember the name! it's an older book though. the main character is a man who lives in a big house and gardens it but has no real friends. he inherits the home and by luck meets people who introduce him to the president. he goes on TV and inspires everyone. he has no idea what is going on most of the time but says polite and simple responses and this seems to be good with everyone. the cover is green.
