SOLVED. Christian historical romance set in 19th century New England (Maine or Mass)

I read this book around 2000-2010 I think. It's a Christian historical romance about a ship captain and his relationship with a young lady who is an orphan (I think) and who's a bit of a recluse. It's set in small town Maine or Massechusets, I think. There's a funny and touching scene where he helps her to sew a dress. Everyone in town calls him Cap'n. It set in the 19th century, I think.
