Picked it up, haven't really looked at it yet.

Anyone who's seen only the movie will find many differences. Particularly in making the tale more subtle and delicate.

Just finished it.

I agree, the book is different from the movie, though I guess that's to be expected in adaptations. It would have been difficult to translate the subtleties Gaiman wove into the story to the big screen, and the tone is quite different, probably to make it more marketable. I enjoyed both versions, though.
