Thanks for the heads up on the sale books. A good place for posts like this is either in the General SF & F discussion folder or the Members’ Lounge folder. You can feel free to start a new topic in either place or add to a topic that seems appropriate (like “Recently acquired books” thread).

Thanks for the heads up on the sale books. A good place for posts like this is either in the General SF & F discussion folder or the Members’ Lounge folder. You can feel free to start a new topic in either place or add to a topic that seems appropriate (like “Recently acquired books” thread).

Some people take fancy vacation. Some people go out to shows, plays, dinner and dancing. Some people follow their favorite sports teams around the country. I buy books. :)
Finished my reread of The Dark Beyond the Stars and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. I have a thing for the ending, I just like it so much.
Trying to start The Hollow Places, but we're nearing the end of the beta cycle here at work and free time has shrunk on me again. Plus I'm trying to teach myself Python for another project here at work and that is sucking up the rest of what free time I do have.

Series news - We have just wrapped up our read of the Old Man's War series by John Scalzi. You will find the schedule and series discussions in our Old Man's War discussion folder. Our discussion of the final book, The End of All Things, began September 15 and will remain open indefinitely for latecomers, so please feel free to jump in if you're coming to the series late!
The next series read will be the Riddle-Master trilogy by Patricia A. McKillip. The book is available in omnibus edition as Riddle-Master, or in three separate volumes. We plan to begin the series discussion on November 15, so stay tuned for information!
