Lea's eyes fill with tears at his thoughtfulness. "Honestly.. that would be wonderful.. but i have nothing left there for me" Her voise cracks and she turns her head, feriously wiping at her tears. She pulls out her hair and leans her head forward, hoping to hide her tears. She peaks at him through a curtain of hair, expecting to see him trying not to laugh. But instead she sees only kindness
Hes so kind.. Its like hes seeing into my very soul.. like he knows what im going through..
"Tell me what I can do for you, and I will gladly do so." He vowed, slightly alarmed at the sight of her tears. He knew he had to help her, no matter the cost and hell, he would provide her with anything just to see her happy.
"Please, Lea. I-I just need you to breathe. Everything will be alright, and I swear on my title that I'll do everything in my power if it brings you happiness." It wasn't an easy oath, but one he was determined to keep despite the consequences he had to face. He only needed to know.
Midnight was whining softly now, rubbing her head against the girl's mare, offering silent support with her eternal strength. They had come to a stop now, the flowers blossoming in front of them, the plants swaying nonchalantly, oblivious to the despair of the girl. He placed a steady arm on her back, keeping quiet, waiting until she was ready to speak.
Lea takes a deep shuddering breath. "Thank ya" She whispers, her accent more prominent. "Im so sorry.." She leans slightly into his warm comforting arm and sniffs. "Why are you being so kind to me..?" She asks, brushing the hair from her face and looking up into his warm hazel eyes. "I was so rude when i wrote that letter to you.."She feels Midnight nuzzel her and reaches out to stroak her neck. "Good girl." She mutters
"Rude? Really, it was informal, sure but I was never offended." He laughed, surprised and amused at the thought of her fiery letter. It sure was different but it wasn't as if he hadn't had his own fair share of insolence throughout the years he had been in court.
"Being kind isn't what I do, Lea. It's what I am, or at least, what I try to be. It's a quality embedded in me and I would treat everyone, regardless of who they are with the same kindness." He breathed in the musty smell of Midnight's flank before continuing.
"Plus, you still owe me a request. It isn't every day you get the prince of Agria to owe you a favor." He winked at her playfully, the previous seriousness dissipating at once.
Lea pulls away from him and throws her head back, laughing. Her hair cascades down her shoulders and seems to glow like fire in the warm sun light. When she looks at him again, her eyes glow from the traces of her tears, but glimmer with miscif. "I just might take you up on that." She winks and nudges her horse forward, "YAW!" Her stallion takes off running, his tail streaming behind him like a flag. She flings her arms out and shuts her eyes, trusting the horse and letting it deside where to go.
The girl didn't seem to have anything to say. That was weird... Emma thought tilting her head. She pursed her lips sliding her back from the tree and out into whatever laid behind there. Emma breathed in again the cold and fresh air. She found a small stream in the clump of trees and stared at it yearningly. Though she loved the fresh piney smell of the trees, she longed for the salty sea air. But there was no getting to the ocean. So this was a second best. She turned again heading back to the big palace doors.
Mary-Ella sat silently stitching a patch onto her dress, when she could feel the heat of the lava like fire eating away at the stable roof. She jumps up and began to quickly open the horses' many stalls and attempts to lead all of them to safety, the open doors to the stables. Her heart pounded in her ears out of fear, what she would have given to be a water elemental, not a useless and powerless woman. As she was about to race to the door, once the final horse was out the roof caved in, she screamed in pain and the heat licked at her skin. She stumbled onto the floor, searching for a large water bucket, as the fire made the stable door collapse before her. Trapped is what she was, as she found a trough of water, it was large enough to cover her body so with ashed filled lungs she struggled into the water and passed out from the ashes, heat and flames.
In Realyn's eyes and Wren's, they had just attacked a hunters base and have won a small battle for her village, they continued to fly not looking back with black eyes at the fallen stable.
The many beautiful horses ran around their manes tangled and covered in ash. Making many sounds of fear and stress, they all grouped together, seemingly dazed by the fire that ate away at the stable.
Dwynwen stumbled into the stables, thankful she’d found her way back into the kingdom without getting caught. She looked down at her disheveled dress. The teal ball gown was barely recognizable, covered in stains, holes, and rips. If anyone saw her, they’d surely ask questions. Especially considering how long she’d been gone. And she couldn’t afford that. She knew she had to get back to her room, fast.
Emma floated out the palace doors, finally escaping to fresh air. Her tight nerves quickly unwound as the wind kissed her gentle skin. She walked down to her favorite tree. Emma closed her eyes leaning her weight on its strong trunk. She let the wind and soft hissing sound consume her.
Dwynwen caught a glimpse of herself in the transparent reflection of the window and winced at what she saw. No good lie could cover this up. She quickly looked away, and saw something more frightening: another selected girl. She couldn’t let her see her!
(Yeah, like a window to the inside of the palace. Sorry I have to go, irl stuff. That’s also why my post was rushed earlier)
Out of impulse, Dwynwen dashed behind one of the stalls, biting her lip as she struggled to formulate a plan. Dozens of ideas raced through her mind, but none of them were worthy enough to escape being ruled out. Should she wait here until the girl left? Sneak inside the palace? Run for it and hide her face? The girl shifted a bit, and the small yet sudden movement made Dwynwen jump back, sending a cart of items tumbling to the ground with obnoxiously loud clatter. Dwynwen’s heart stopped. She was done for.
