Deresa Claybrook (deresa01) | 3 comments I have a book that is finished. It is nonfiction. Business. Roadblock in Career Development. I wrote it in the style of chronologically what happened to me in my career but on the other side, it is giving tips on how to not do what I did, and then I gave some better solutions. Is there a name for this type of writing?

J.R. Alcyone | 283 comments If the main focus is on what happened to you, personally, and it follows a more narrative format, you could call it a memoir. Memoirs are often developed around an event or theme, so talking about mistakes you made and how you learned from them could be a memoir.

Otherwise, I'd probably call it a non-fiction book about business.
