I read this book about 09 but I think it was published in the 90's. It starts off with a girl's parents (who own a funeral home) heading out for a meeting or a dinner leaving the girl alone with her brother and his friend. While they are alone, the body of an inmate is brought in. He either reanimates or he was never really dead. He chases them around the city all night. The girl was in middle school I believe or in her first two years of high school. The authors were actually a husband and wife team and their nom de plume was both of their first names with N as the middle initial. So: husband's first name, middle initial 'N', and the wife's first name. It could have been wife first then husband, I can't remember.
