Well Met (Well Met, #1) by Jen DeLuca
Task: TASK 1: As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month
Book: Well Met
Page numbers: 336 GR
How: Published September 3rd 2019
Date: 09.17 ★★★★
Review:
Cute and fun. Fairly predictable but there was enough going on that I didn't feel like I knew exactly what was going to happen next, even though I mostly did. I though Simon's surprise at the end was sweet. He needed to show more initiative with Emily so that was good. I'll probably continue the series.

53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.

TASK 1: As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month

Review

This was a Romance with a difference Pheobe and Sam meet at St. Pancras station when their trains are delayed and fall in love at first sight. Unfortunately they are both heading in seperate directions on for a year. Sam is heading home to Scotland to find his father and his roots, Phoebe is heading to Europe to find herself. They agree to meet one year from the day if they still love each other. What follows is a bittersweet romance of ups and downs as they navigate their long-distance relationship on their journey of self-discovery. A good book with enough angst to keep it interesting.

3. Each player reads a book by a new to you author - no pass for this task.

Please include a link to your read shelf in your completion post. You can other books by your chosen author on your shelf, but only the book you choose for this task can be marked as read. If your profile is private, you will need to either open your profile for the duration of this task (or challenge) or friend me so that I can see your shelves and confirm your completion.

Naughty in Norway (Nordic Lights Book 1) by Christine Edwards
Task: 3. Each player reads a book by a new to you author
Book: Naughty in Norway
Page numbers: 178 Kindle GR
How: new to me - Read
Date: 09.19 ★★★
Review:
Think of this as the 'little BDSM book that tried'. It wasn't horrible, it wasn't great either. Some of the descriptions of scenic Norway were good (I REALLY want to see the Northern Lights some day!) and there was a visit to a Viking living museum that was interesting too. But the author couldn't decide if her hardened biker was really a bad-ass dude or not, so things felt off the whole book. I have to give credit that she did a good job making the heroine, Vail, actually question her sanity because of her attraction to Alreck, her biker kidnapper. How they resolve that is somewhat realistic. Overall, I'll go back to this author for challenge purposes when I need a book in another country that's not England but if not for that I wouldn't seek her out again.

Review
This is the 8th book in the Kurt Wallander series and was really enjoyable. However I do think I need to go back to the beginning as there were some character backgrounds that I would have benefited from knowing the history. Saying that, this was everything I have come to expect of Scandinavian thrillers, it was dark, gritty and took you on a rollercoaster of a ride before spitting you out the other end.

This was such an enjoyable read. Patrick is the type of main character that I love, he has a past, he has flaws, and he has a just do it attitude...but also shows some moments of vulnerability. There were enough supporting characters that really also kept me engaged in interested in who they are and what their role is. Jono is a character I like, but I'm still a little unsure of their relationship, so hoping that grows stronger in the next books.

MountainKat | 32105 comments Here is Task 3:

12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task.

You can do the recommendations however you wish - to the group, to each individual, to the person below you on the list or ?? - it's up to you. If you want to provide a specific shelf to pick from, it needs to have a minimum of 10 books on it.

LaurLa | 5173 comments Do we need to make sure a book FROM each teammate is read? If we just link a shelf, then it's possible we all would choose from the same person. I think we need to understand the intent from Mkat.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) If it's the same as last time, I don't think so but we should ask in the Q and A.
