MountainKat | 21783 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 7, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

Snowtulip | 79 comments HERE WE GO!

Task 1 for all teams!

0. As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month. No pass for this task.

For this task we are using the initial publication date. If one is listed at the top of the editions page, use that. Otherwise I will be looking for the first published date of an English language edition. Remember to use the first English language Kindle edition for your page count and ensure that your completion posts contain all the required information listed in message #3 of your team thread.

I'm Racy! ;-)

message 25: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 3574 comments I like September or October. Lots of releases in October for holiday season, so that could be a good month. But I love Fall and we get our best color here in October.

Snowtulip | 79 comments This clarification was posted in the Q&A:

Quick clarification. The first task is to chose a book initially published in your chosen month of 2019.

message 30: by Louise (new)

Louise | 839 comments So we’re going for September?

message 31: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 1351 comments So September 2019 then just to go with the clarification? Off to the TBR!

message 32: by Louise (new)

Louise | 839 comments The Day We Meet Again One of the books I picked up from the library works 😊

message 33: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (cowmingo) | 1351 comments I think I'm going to read A Crown of Iron & Silver

message 34: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 3574 comments Crap. I have 3 Sept 2019 books. And they are all series books where I'm not close to getting to yet. Oy. Guess I'm off to go hunting a free book somewhere. I did not think I was picking a 2019 book... just a month. Not a fun start :-(

message 35: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 79 comments That's what I thought too, so glad she gave a clarification before we got too far into reading!

message 36: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 79 comments I'm going with The Mystery of the Bones

message 37: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 79 comments I'll probably add both Stacie and Louise books to my tbr! Just waiting to see if they are any good...

message 38: by LaurLa (last edited Sep 15, 2020 03:46AM) (new)

LaurLa | 3574 comments I found this relatively cheaply on Amazon - I had some credit so only paid 50 cents. I was hoping for something shorter though.

Well Met (Well Met, #1) by Jen DeLuca

ETA - Berit gave it 5 stars so I'm hoping that means it's good and easy to read!

Snowtulip | 79 comments Completion Post

Task: TASK 1: As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month. (September)

The Mystery of the Bones (Snow & Winter #4) by C.S. Poe
Page numbers with source: 200 pages, GR
How book qualified: Published September 24, 2019
Date Completed: 9/15/20
Rating: 4 stars

Review: This is the last in the series, that I've really enjoyed. Seb is an amateur sleuth that you fall in love with because of the hijinks that seem to follow him around...then you have his stoic detective partner...just makes me happy. I also love their relationship, it's a great romance with sweetness.

TASK 1: As a team select your favorite month of 2019 (because 2020 basically SUCKS!) and each player reads a book initially published in that month. (September)
A Crown of Iron & Silver (Soulbound, #3) by Hailey Turner
A Crown of Iron & Silver by Hailey Turner
Pages: 368 per GR
How the book qualifies: Published September 10, 2019
Date: 9/16
Rating: 3.5 stars

Review:
Another fun adventure with Jono and Patrick. This one was a little slow but I still enjoyed it. I kind of wanted to smack Wade a few times but he's a teenager. Books like this with the Fae in them make me want to do a bunch of research on the origins of the queens (summer and winter) and other things like that. I've really enjoyed this series so far, I think there's one left.

Stacie (cowmingo) | 1351 comments I was looking through the tasks and wanted to point out some that might take a little bit of discussion so we had the info all in one place at the time the task is called (if it's called).

64. Read 6 books not set on a continent of a teammate. Space does not count - must be a real continent. Looks like we're going to Australia for this one

53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task. This would be College Park, MD or Poolesville, MD. So I'm probably out LOL.

58. Read 6 books published in the year one of the teammates joined RRRC, teams decide which teammate. 2017 for me

91. Add up the years of the teammates' births and each teammate reads a book with that minimum number of pages. For example, teammates were born in 75, 83, 87 and 94 - each teammate reads a book at least 339 pages long. No pass for this task. 1978 for me

74. Read 6 books published in a teammates' birth month, you may not use your own month. September

93. As a team, pick a Romance List from GR Listopia with less than 100 books on it, each teammate reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.

Snowtulip | 79 comments I'm kind of surprised you found so many lists with less than 100...seems the lists are always 25 pages long (seems to be when looking for genre books ;)

message 48: by Snowtulip (last edited Sep 16, 2020 07:11PM) (new)

Snowtulip | 79 comments Another good one to plan for is this task:

99. Each teammate lists 5 favorite books. Select books from 2 different teammates and read them.

I've added a tracking post the for list Stacie posted and this one, so that we can have quick access.
