Yes, there are really many episodes! But I think it's written excitingly and I read one episode every month together with a GR friend. Our task got called just at the perfect time. :)

Very interested! Can’t wait to see your review.

I just finished book 2 of the series so now I’m starting the book for this call. Should finish late tonight or early tomorrow morning

Trio | 2832 comments if we need 4 books and anyone has read more than 1 pls speak up asap!
My wee puppy was at the vet again today (she's been hospitalized for pneumonia) and she's taking a lot of my time.

I'll start a new book right now, but didn't even have a chance to check the thread till just this moment. Sorry team.

Hey no worries at all! I’m gonna start the fourth book as soon as I finish the third (I’ll have both finished tomorrow) and it has less than 500 reviews so I can take a fourth this task for sure :)

Review: The last time I reread this my review was, "Somehow, I was still unprepared for the tears with this one. I guess it'll just always punch me right in the gut," and it's STILL TRUE. Amazing book with a devastating ending, and even knowing how it all turns out after book four, I still feel it every time.

Janeylou | 3052 comments What kind of dog have you got Trio, my daughter has just had a cocker spaniel..and seems to spend a lot of time on video chatting with vets !!!

message 163: by Trio (new)

Trio | 2832 comments we have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels - one is 3 yrs and the other is 12 weeks
We picked up the baby about 12 days ago and she was fine till last Thursday. It seemed like she was coming down with a cold, and by Friday afternoon she was coughing like crazy. The vet thought it was kennel cough and I got meds for her, but I knew it was way worse than kennel cough so I ended up bringing her to the vet hosp Saturday evening. Got her back Sunday morning but I've been with her 24 hours a day through this whole thing just caring for her.

Plus I'm having the outside of my house painted and last week was when they finally started 😒 and I've waited 4 months for them. But they're doing an amazing job so I'm happy - it's just a lot of stress right now.

And don't get me started on my three very high maintenance adult children, all of whom live with me. I'm dying for a low stress normal day.

Janeylou | 3052 comments TASK 2 COMPLETION POST #6

Strangers in the Night by E.M. Jeanmougin
357 pgs kindle edition
24 reviews

finished 16th september

Firstly, Crimson Apocalypse, what a fantastic name .
Loads of action but not much on the romance, a kiss or two is all we get .I think 100 pages could quite easily have been cut out of this , from parts of the first half but overall it was a good start to a new series.

They talk! Seong-Jae and Malcolm finally talk!! 😊
But OMG, this tangled web of a mystery is growing bigger and bigger! Some domino pieces are falling and new questions arise. The serial killer with the rabbit mask is still not catched, everyone seems to have their own secrets and their chess moves to play....
And then: this cruel cliffhanger!! 😱😱

MountainKat | 32097 comments I've got your complete for Task 2, and plan to post your next task tomorrow morning (my time) - in about 17 hours?

Amanda, I know what you mean! Even when I know it is coming - it still hits me in the gut! I haven't had the time (or maybe courage?) to reread the Verania series! But recently we rewatched the Harry Potter movies and I ugly cried several times - I've read all the books multiples of time and seen the movies several times and still ugly cried. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That is EXACTLY how I am with Harry Potter. Books/movies get me so easy, I get so connected to fictional characters that I can ugly cry in happy and sad ways no matter if I know it's coming or not

message 177: by Trio (new)

Trio | 2832 comments In my life I've never re-read a TJ Klune novel, and I never plant to. Kudos Amanda for your bravery!

I've never read Harry Potter or watched the movies (though we do own them) maybe I'll take the plunge!

Whoever sees MKat's post first - post it here, hopefully my puppy baby will have a good night and I'll be raring to go in the AM.

message 178: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookoutbelow) | 4148 comments I’m one of those crazy Klune fans who rereads pretty much everything he writes 😂 I’ve only had one book not really work for me so far. I haven’t read everything though, I have to really work myself up for his more emotionally devastating books.

message 179: by Janeylou (new)

Janeylou | 3052 comments This challange is proving easier than i thought , woth only having tasks every other day i can get my shorter challenge reads done as well 😊😊

message 180: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (bookoutbelow) | 4148 comments I feel the same way! And choosing books for challenges is one of my favorite parts so I like that there is a new choice every other day.

message 181: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 32097 comments Here is Task 3:

10. Read 4 books by authors' who write under more than one name (Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb).

Please provide a how you know that the book you chose is written by an author who writes under a pen name. (Author page showing both names for example.) Provide links as necessary.

message 182: by Amanda (last edited Sep 17, 2020 10:39AM) (new)

Amanda (bookoutbelow) | 4148 comments Ugh, my last SH book fits for this one because I KNOW Lisa Henry is also discontentedwinter, but can't find proof of it. Discontentedwinter's author page says "see Lisa Henry", but I doubt that's enough

message 183: by Janeylou (new)

Janeylou | 3052 comments Kat said yes to this question

For number 10, does the alternate author name need to be known, or is enough that the person uses a penname? For example, Ruby Dixon's author page says:

"Ruby Dixon is the secret penname of a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author."

Is that enough to qualify

message 184: by Janeylou (new)

Janeylou | 3052 comments Amanda ..are you reading Red Heir..i need to read that as well..just not for SH

Review: A very lovely slow burn romance. As always, LH does such an amazing job setting the stage that you feel as if you are right there in small town Australia with the characters. I would’ve loved a longer epilogue, but I still absolutely adored it.

I've never played the Scavenger Hunt. I'm always tempted to sign up for the challenge but then I chicken out. I'm not sure if I'd still be able to enjoy reading while permanently searching for items. How do you decide which books to read? Are you searching for the items beforehand or are you just reading any book and hoping to find some items? 🤔🤔

message 199: by Caipi (new)

Caipi (bookaholic17) | 1405 comments I wanted to read something by Riley Hart but I couldn't find any proof to connect her with Nyrae Dawn.
So I'm going to re-read/re-listen to a LA Witt book. Will post my selection later.
