**spoilers** read book around 2014. Heroine follows her fiancé/boyfriend to either Caribbean or Cancun. In her POV, I believe he was looking for someone allegedly taken into human trafficking. The book is written in a way that you think she is searching for him, but at the end of the book you find out that she was kidnapped and some guy was running various psychological tests on her to determine what would break her resolve. I want to say they lived in Texas, but a not positive.
