I'm sorry, friends. I take responsibility. My summer binge reading ruined the last couple months of the book club.

I'm almost done reading Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family but I can't post discussion questions. I don't even know who is participating in the group read. Again, that's my fault.

The group reading will take a break and come back in October with a horror read. Last year, we read The Shining. I'd love recos for another Stephen King (horror/scary/thriller) book, or a book like it.

What (Stephen King?) horror book should we read in October?

I'm also looking for more admins who can suggest books and lead discussions on them. The book can be fiction or non-fiction, Christian or secular, as long as it is great, not just good. Hit me up if you're interested. :)

I also think Misery or 'Salem's Lot would be really good choices too. All "top scary books by King" list has both of these in the top 5.

Revival also came up quite a bit but in the 8-10th place.

So, I'm voting The Mist.

Any other votes or recos?
(I really want a book that all of us *want* to read together)

Share your thoughts. We'll start October 15th, roughly just like last year. Personally, having an annual Stephen King Halloween read is something I would love to see become a thing.

Sounds good to me as well! A yearly King read is a must.

Looks like I can join in. Short book. Skeleton Crew is a whole set of his short stories. Kindle version of that was 1.00 more than just The Mist alone.
